Well, that was a lot of "sound and fury, signifying nothing" over the lap bars, now wasn't it? Oh well.....:)

@BanksLee just reported the logs are new, but no lap bars. Here's a pic:

Well, there are some saying they are new and some saying they are old. @ tweeted this about 45 minutes ago now "http://twitter.com/
Just rode splash, new lighting, everything looked fantastic and boats are the same :) http://myloc.me/4iGIO"

I'm gonna go with the boats are the same since i've heard that more than they are new, but maybe there are some new, some old.

The lighting looks great. Whenever I'm in Splash Mountain the scenes seem to be in a perpetual twilight; the lighting seems to be much more realistic.

The lighting is quite impressive in person; it seems as though not every scene was redone, perhaps that's just my imagination, but a few really do pop. It sounds as though the audio was tweaked up, too---things seem much crisper, and a bit louder. Again, could just be my fanboi imagination at work.

Like I said, Splash after a refurb. Nothing is better.

Every big ticket attraction needs this kind of yearly love.

Look at the refurbishment schedule over in Tokyo. I don't think they ever have a time when all major attractions are open. If you pay attention to the parks on a regular basis, and continue to make big ticket additions, you can afford to have necessary downtime for your major attractions. Tokyo Disneyland is a prime example of this.

Even so, I'd say there's 8 attractions that should be down a month out of every year:

Splash
Mansion
Pirates
Jungle
Small World
Pan
Space
Buzz

If I was getting greedy, I'd throw Big Thunder in as well. But they could easily close 1 or 2 on the "offseason" months and have all of them open during the busy time.
