Well..... at this point... how do we really know that they might, possibly, do away with the "big drop"? They could just have the logs(assuming there will be logs) slowly descend to the bottom. I know ... crazy. But we really don't much of anything.
They are reversing it. You'll go up the drop and slowly make your way to the new unload area. Where you'll be seated at the new Tiana restaurant which is Pecos Bill rethemed.

Yeah, but they re-routed the track and completely changed the load/unload areas. I have to imagine that's a lot more work than reworking scenes along the track. I can't see Splash changing its track layout, even in minor ways. I know nothing about what's rumored to change or stay, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of the cartoon rockwork in the indoor scenes stay the same. I imagine that Brer Rabbit, Fox and Bear will be gone, but I have to wonder if they'll repurpose a lot of the other animatronics that never appeared in the film, even if just to save on cost and time, knowing that this is a huge hit to capacity.
Yeah, I wish they would at least save the America Sings cast when this happens with Disneyland's version but probably too much to hope for.
What makes you think they are intending of removing them? I would have thought they would repurpose them with a new wardrobe in other sections of the ride...

There are a few ways to get a ton of space for a true Villains area in MK.

Suggestion 1: Relocate it's a small world to EPCOT
Suggestion 2: Remove Tomorrowland Speedway
Suggestion 3: Permanently dock the Riverboat near Tiana's Bayou Adventure perhaps as a musical or other sort of entertainment venue. Re-name the stretch of land from Haunted Mansion to Big Thunder as "Riverfront Square", then I would re-route the Rivers of America or simply add relevant bridges to create a connection between Thunder and Mansion by way of Tom Sawyer Island.
I've said it before - if done right, the Villains concept has enough to mine, they could build a whole park around it - sort of a dark mirror of the MK with something like a Malificant castle as the centerpiece.

With such a theme, almost any MK attraction could still work there (okay, maybe not IASW) which shows how much IP growth potential it has since most movies have a villain and that's really all you need plus since the theme would be darker from the onset, you could have more height restricted attractions since the entire nature of the park would make it appear less for the eight-and-under crowd than it's more cheery counter-park.

I'm not saying a full-on coaster park but definetly one with a makeup that leaned more towards thrilling attractions.

It lends itself to its own mountain ranges, own dark rides, etc. that really don't belong in the other three parks, already and that the MK doesn't have room for.

And let's face it, Disney's greatest successes worldwide have always been with castle parks and that formula. This concept would allow them to effectively duplicate MK's capacity on property, peeling away some of the teen and adult crowd from the MK while still offering a new and fresh MK-like experience with another ticketed gate that would also be able to offer something that better competes with their local neighbors, all without having to force the existing parks in that direction.

Suggestion 1: Not sure where it would fit..Better it just gets removed for good..
Suggestion 2: It's possible
Suggestion 3: they did this...And with the problem that regular guests couldn't get on the boat as it just became a traveling stage on the water it got cancelled..
