If the “beyond thunder mountain” comes to pass for MK, hopefully they add a small New Orleans section and specifically Tiana’s restaurant next to Splash. Would be nice get get some NO staples in MK.
I'll die on this rock, but they should have done a beyond Thunder Mountain with a NOLA section for WDW along Rivers of America like DL has - make it well themed to the city and put the Tiana ride there along with restaurants and retail.

I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before, but is the animated alligator shown at 3:28 in the "Celebrating 70 Years of Walt Disney Imagineering" video related to Tiana's Bayou Adventure or is this from something else?

This video was shown during the expo and they posted it on YouTube today.

I wonder if that's the level of projection we can expect on Splash 2.0. Screens built into gaps in the physical sets. Especially in the upper levels.

The outside of this attraction does not bode well for the inside. The exterior looks cheap and lacks and kind of iconic imagery to remember.

My hope is all the budget is going to the interior.

If they're going to use screens/projections, all they need to do is go look at Na'vi River Journey to see the best way to incorporate them into physical sets.

Yes, I agree that the use of screens was best utilized on NRJ…who was in charge? Joe Rhode…MMRR in HWD, is horrendous, Rat is better and I think it’s cute but if they’re going to get rid of 75% of the AA’s for screens is flat out sacrilegious.

Well it certainly is for this teams last work, Runaway Railroad. The whole premise is cool you go into a Mickey short mid cartoon. Since it's mostly projection based it still doesn't feel like you're in the cartoon.
What does being in a cartoon feel like?

I'd assume it doesn't feel like watching the Paul Rudish Mickey Mouse shorts on the wall of an empty warehouse.
I've never been in one so I can't say. But I get what you're saying. Rise of the Resistance is supposed be the most realistic Lazer blasts, but I have yet to get blasted in the chest by one. Bad show.
