Let me get this straight: This was in the works for years before they announced it, the only two pieces of concept art released in that time are now irrelevant, they had exec/creative trips to New Orleans to research authenticity and have round table discussions where they discuss Tiana like she's an actual historical figure and how this representation is of the upmost importance, and the best they could do in said 5 years time is a salt mine, in a mountain, with a water tower advertising a restaurant, and rather than follow the beats of the film (which most guests will be expecting), and not using any of the songs from the film (which most guests will be expecting), they said no, and will make it an even bigger gamble on the redo. Sheesh.
To be fair, the water tower doesn't advertise her restaurant... it advertises her food processing company.

I understand that the attractions of Pandora went through extensive changes from first announcement of the land to its final form.
Sure, all attractions do, but when they first announced Avatar coming to WDW, they didn't try to sell it like this re-theme, which supposedly has been years in the making.

We went from their preparation for their first Mardi Gras performance…

View attachment 665823…to a curious emphasis on a salt mine experience.

Now, no one knows how much of the attraction will be going through the mine vs Mardi Gras celebration, but this salt mine stuff doesn’t appear to be in some of the early descriptors or concept art.
At least a Mardi Gras celebration would lend itself to be the premise for a fun ride with good music.

Why on earth would they base the ride on something that's supposed to occur after the film?
They had excellent source material, and they're ditching it for stuff they're making up.
Guests who know the film (and don't read these things about what goes on behind the scenes) are going to want to see things they saw in the movie.

I live in Louisiana and I visit a salt mine at least once a day so this is a highly authentic creole experience.

In fact, most everyone around here visits a salt mine before going to the Mardi Gras.

Y’all really need to believe the Imagineers have done their homework and not just put down a couple of Pat O’s hurricanes during their visits.
Don’t you all work in salt mines? I heard a rumor that everyone in Louisiana is either a voodoo witch or a salt miner.

I think I'm the only person who thinks this, but I feel they came up with the perfect solution with Frozen Ever After by setting it just after the film so they don't have to strictly retell the story but not introducing any important new elements beyond the idea we're going to their summer house. That allowed them to just recreate settings and songs from the film that all the fans wanted to see and just make it a boat ride through the world of Frozen.

Not entirely sure a similar approach would have worked here, but I much prefer the looser notion of a ride through the world of a film to coming up with a complex new story involving the characters of a film and their career trajectory.

PatF already had a good story. It would have been well-served by a book report ride, I think.

Technically it’s an employee owned co-op 😉. Her owning it would be too capitalistic and cause issues for modern Disney.
I did hear tell of a riff on “Almost There” where Tiana sings about a squirrel who identifies as a bear that she hired as part of her latest inclusivity efforts. “Almost Bear” is sure to become an instant theme park classic.

This makes me wonder who are Tianas Employees? Does she provide dental? What is an otter with a banjo going to do with stock? I hope they explain this in the queue. They mentioned that the animals living in the salt mine help out.

What you’ve written honestly feels like parody.
Imagine when Ashton pops out tomorrow and all the Disney fans be like
