I will miss splash for sure. Curious to know what's planned for the ride elements inside? Has there been any concept art of the inside?

Indeed. There’s still time for budget overruns and budget cuts to combine giving us half of what is depicted at D23.

Yes soon it will change from growing/farming all their own food to Tiana taking us on a boat ride to Costco to buy a plate of pre-made sandwiches. The drop will be them chasing us out when they realize we don't have memberships.

All I’m asking for is a free 7-day pass!!!

However, if the story is really something along the lines of needing ingredients to prepare food for a party it seems a little lame for a thrill ride to me. The suggestion about chasing a magic trumpet also seemed a bit lame (was that another Jim Hill rumour?), but maybe it's just a tough fit to create a Princess and the Frog ride that includes thrill elements but isn't too scary for the biggest fans of the film and characters who are probably younger children. I guess if they were planning a PatF ride from scratch they wouldn't have chosen to make it any more thrilling than perhaps the Seven Dwarfs mine train, so it's probably another issue they have to work around with this overlay.
Do we know the missing trumpet storyline is no longer part of the attraction? It's possible that Tiana and Louis set out to find ingredients and then the missing Trumpet creates a complication on the journey.

Anything is possible when we're working with a company who unironically pumps chocolate chip cookie smells in incredicoaster, then puts a temporary looking Rollercoaster Tycoon chocolate chip cookie stall 1 at the exit, permanently.

I'm more curious to know where the idea of the missing trumpet story comes from. Is it just a rumour from Jim Hill (in which case it may never have been seriously considered), or was there further confirmation this was the route they were going? Of course, if it turns out that is the plot I will have to apologise to poor old Jim!

Just as a caveat before anyone says this is pre-judging, I think we're all aware this is speculation rather than reacting to confirmed plans.

If only they'd relied on the movie...

I just don't understand these contrived, overengineered stories in these recent attractions. Guardian's main failure is in its story. Same with Harmonius and Enchantment. It feels like the parks' stories are being written by bad move short writers - which Disney recently has failed spectacularly. The greatest attractions have very simple, plausible storylines. They have incredibly rich sets, rich settings, etc. But, you don't need this forced storyline. They ruined Pirates with a silly forced storyline. This looks to be even worse. It cheapens the characters and adds nothing to the attraction itself IMHO.

Jack needs a comically large key. Keep it away from him!
Guardians have to save the world to get back an important McGuffin!
Tiana needs to find her tasty McGuffin or she'll have upset dinner guests!
We need to shoot things to get magical space crap from the Falcon!
Remy is deciding a dish to make us standing over a potentially hostile restaurant's kitchen.

Disney has always been about fantasy. The stories don't have to be perfect. But, they need to have some level of making sense and plausibility. Even total fantasy makes some level of sense.

So many of these new stories just seem forced and a bit trite. I honestly think storytelling and place setting are one of Disney Park's biggest problems right now.
"Live your own Princess and the Frog story."

Let me get this straight: This was in the works for years before they announced it, the only two pieces of concept art released in that time are now irrelevant, they had exec/creative trips to New Orleans to research authenticity and have round table discussions where they discuss Tiana like she's an actual historical figure and how this representation is of the upmost importance, and the best they could do in said 5 years time is a salt mine, in a mountain, with a water tower advertising a restaurant, and rather than follow the beats of the film (which most guests will be expecting), and not using any of the songs from the film (which most guests will be expecting), they said no, and will make it an even bigger gamble on the redo. Sheesh.

Park fans won't win since they're losing a piece of Disney Parks history. Fans of the attraction as it currently sits won't win because, well, they're seeing the attraction get gutted for what appears to be a lesser experience. And Tiana fans won't win because this is not what anyone thinks when they talk about a Princess and the Frog ride.

We went from their preparation for their first Mardi Gras performance…

…to a curious emphasis on a salt mine experience.

Now, no one knows how much of the attraction will be going through the mine vs Mardi Gras celebration, but this salt mine stuff doesn’t appear to be in some of the early descriptors or concept art.
