It was still playing when i walked into the MK my 1st day there…

I can think of two places other than that loop where it's still playing, too.

I don't doubt they meant to imply they wouldn't use it anymore when they took it out of Festival of Fantasy. But I also don't doubt they're more interested in big, showy actions rather than actually being thorough.

yeah i dont get the "value engineered" hate....I mean, I also like the tree with the boat as well and miss it, but now it just looks more like the original, which is one of the best looking and most loved attractions in the park....thats not a bad thing imo. I think it looks awesome, cant wait to see the rest of it.

Again picking & choosing what Disney & other companies do best yet people foolish ones keep
Falling for it….

This is it exactly. It's being removed one by one, it won't be added to anything new.

Not to be a downer, but things like the rope drop and entrance music are on borrowed time. Once Splash closes, don't be surprised if every bit of it is scrubbed. They even recently removed it in Tokyo music loops, where Splash Mountain is expected to remain unchanged for now.

I don't want to get into it here on WDWMagic, but you can research it yourself and find out why some people are against Disney using the song. I have mixed feelings on it myself, as I have trouble believing the original intention of the song was bad, but at the same time, if people are indeed offended by it today, I think Disney is right to show respect to those people despite its beloved history.
It was removed from the Tokyo station because they lost the license to that specific recording (along with a couple others that played on the platform). It still plays on the train itself.

The whole salt mine thing feels like a solution in search of a problem (the "problem" being Louisiana is flat, but I don't think that really matters in the context of a fantasy theme park ride).
This. I am utterly bewildered by the choices they’ve made. I just hope they manage to build some drama into the narrative to justify the drop (though I can’t say I’m all that optimistic based on what I’ve seen so far).

How fun! @The Mom are we suddenly allowed to discuss politics on here now and I missed the memo? As you see, I’m being scolded for not leaving the country when Trump was elected. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
@The Mom is not actively policing the forum 24 hours a day. If you see a comment that’s bound to get deleted, it doesn’t mean it’s been given the a-okay. It means the staff monitoring the site have finite time and are human. They’re not omnipresent, they have lives outside this forum.

They do a very good job monitoring the forum, all things considered.

Its like repainting the castle, but this time they cut the tallest tower off of it. Sure, the rest looks the same, but it doesn’t really work now anymore does it.

The ride building needs that/a focal point at the top.

Another thing to me is Disney desperately trying to justify the salt dome. Who cares? If it fits the attraction no one cares, but to try and constantly talk about it is just funny. It's like they literally had nothing to work off of. I thought this was going to be a grandeur Mardi Gras celebration, not about growing plants on a salt dome. I would expect Mardi Gras to be the ending but who knows. It's like whatever at this point.

Well, they showed us something (the tree and the boat) which added to the exterior, and now they have taken them away.
I don't consider the water tower much of an addition, though it technically is one.

Okay, but real talk: what will we actually call this since the name is terrible. Currently, my family says, “wanna go ride Splash?”

I don’t think “let’s go ride Tiana“ is the move.

“Let’s go ride Bayou”?
”Let’s go ride Adventure”?

I need guidance in my life for hard-hitting questions such as this.
Let’s go feed the gators? Or, Let’s go see how they screwed Splash up for THIS?? Or how about, they took down the Earful tower and put THIS up???
Just wonderin’

Like I've said when you make a film, tv show, or ride where the message is first - and the strive for creativity is second - these things happen.
This would work so much better as a homage to the Princess and the Frog Movie.
They've got great source material, with great visuals and excellent songs yet they're making up a new story that few will care about.
