No
Tinker Bell and the entire ride isn’t problematic - the Native American depictions are. Those are already changing, and I expect more to come.
They been “changing” for years lol. How long doesit take to cover up a static scene lol as i said in anotherpost that i think may have been deleted. They i guess are afraid of blm than they are of NA…

The removal of the boat and its replacement with a water tower adorned with a crown doesn't give me a very good impression.
The ride will likely be visually pretty though - but, I don't know... We'll see.

According to media people there they were told this model is of the DLR version and the WDW version will have the tree/boat shown in the concept art and no water tower

Guess DLRs is positioned closer to downtown New Orleans (to tie into NO Sq) while WDW's will be positioned as out deeper in the Bayou

Hmm, might be a rare moment where WDW lucked out over DL. The water tower would fine, I guess, if they just got rid of that crown.

Just learned this the other day. One of the few Native American representations in the "Golden Dreams" montage in The American Adventure features "Iron Eyes Cody," which is one of the most recognizable Native Americans as the "Crying Indian" in the "Keep America Beautiful" advertisements that were ubiquitous in the 70's and 80's. Except....he's not Native American - he has Italian ancestry. Big thing that blew up a few years ago.

Also, for a more recent snafu in this regard, google "Tenaya Stone Spa controversy"

They didn’t think WDI would be that stupid
There's nothing inauthentic about salt mines in Louisiana. Not in downtown New Orleans, mind you, or at surface bayou level, but clearly, they're a thing.

The issue isn’t their inauthenticity. Obviously they exist. It’s that this whole refurb is done to remove problematic associations with the source material…and as an alternative they’re using salt mines which sadly used slave labor and indentured servants.

Dear God please let this be true....I would be so happy if WDW avoided the water tower. Can more confirm (no offense meant to this poster who said it.)

I'm getting the impression the rumor about WDW getting the tree and not the Water Tower is mistaken information - this rendering is very clearly an edit of WDW's Mountain. Compare to this photo - the profiles of the rocks match exactly, but DL's rocks are different from WDW's. Even the fencing around the attraction is identical to WDW's but different from DL's and from the new model:

EDITED To Add: Just noticed EagleScout's comment at the bottom of their post - indeed, yet another clue this is WDW's Mountain.
