It trivializes suicide and makes a joke of it whithin the first 5 minutes. It’s more overtly provocative than anything in Splash.

It also romanticizes the occult.

But I wouldn't want it to go away, myself. It's one of my Top 5 (along with Splash).

Though, I get your point when you said you would be OK with it going away.

“Replaces” in the loosest sense.
Nevertheless, Br'er Frog repeats the same lines from the movie as Uncle Remus and he smokes a pipe just like Uncle Remus:

The only ones that should ever be offended are the ones that are suffering because of the squawking harpies that seek ways to be offended. Not simply because harpies end up causing others to lose something, but because it is just so blasted annoying. Somewhere in the early life of the harpies they learned that a squeaky wheel gets oiled and brother they seem to love oil more than a sailor in a Bangkok massage parlor.
In your opinion, could there ever be a segment of society who might have valid complaints about something in a Disney ride/film? If so, at what point do you think Disney should respond?

Could you be offended by something? Sure... and you should do what most people do, vote with your pocketbook and don't go back. Pretty simple, and doesn't impact anyone else. Should Disney respond to anyone that is offended, No never because if they do they only increase the probability of more offended harpies jumping on Disney for something else that they find offensive. The better tactic is to ignore them. God knows before the virus Disney was not having any problem attracting guests.

This has already happened... look at the changes to the opening song of the original Aladdin movie.

I know you’re trying to be optimistic but this is really painful for me and that pain is not going to go away with a new version that doesn’t have the songs, design, and characters that I’ve grown to love. Sorry.

I do get being upset by it.

It was my first "big ride" as a kid, and all my kids have followed suit, like a right of passage to MK..

I have so many fond memories of it. Would be lying if I wasn't a little emotional about it leaving.

However, I am optimistic about the change.

And tbh I don't see it happening for a few years. And who knows what happens between now and then?

Keep your chin up!
