Actually, WDW churros are best know for being the easiest targets for the hungry seagulls and blackbirds around Frontierland.

No kidding. When I worked for the YES Program, we had two members of our groups get "scared" and jump out of the log right before the final drop (they landed on a safety platform). I had a hard time understanding why if they are scared, they decided to jump OUT of a two ton log. Kids these days.

Just try that at Mission:SPACE

Remember, this is the country where we sued the tobacco companies for selling tobacco. Now we're going to sue McDonald's and Burger King because we're fat. It's all about corporate responsibility...no one wants to take personal responsiblity. Heck, Walmart gets sued all the time for some moron who decides to walk in something spilled on the floor. They fall down and blame Walmart for not cleaning it up the instant it hit the floor. Gee, couldn't that person just watch where they are walking?!?!?!

Not sure about MK, but you can buy them at the Cantina de San Angel in the Mexican Pavillion in Epcot. :)

Maria, I just read your signature about flirting...that's funny!

Of course, all of us men in here are heartbroken now!

It's almost like having to put warning labels on hair dryers about taking them in the shower...everyone should know that, but you know the label is there because some slow-witted person tried it once...:brick:

Ahh i love the Darwin Awards. Its really a great book to read about idiots.Anyways i think the heat really called out alot of the morons.Monday at MK on Carousel of Progress some lady got up and walked right out the theatre in the middle of the show. Then a cm made an announcement to stay seated at all times.
After that I decided to ride the TTA.The thing was full of morons who kept standing up.CMs kept making the announcement to remain seated but apparently morons cant listen for their own safety. After that I headed to AK rode Kilomanjari Safaris and while i was waiting in line this guy behind me was complaining about how these werent the safaris he was expecting and when boarding a lady asks a cm if the animals were real or not. Then yesterday at MGM at the animation tour some stupid mom is walking around saying that all the desks where the animators work and that the studio is fake. That it was real convient that they leave their desk lights on.Idiot.Then at Muppet Vision 3-D while waiting in the preshow area this family is complaining that this isnt in 3-D.I wanted to just go over and slap them. Finally when leaving this group of about 10 people werent going to get on the tram to go out to the parking lot because they came in on a blue tram and they were afraid that they wouldnt get back to where they were going.:brick: :brick: :brick: :brick: :brick: :brick:  :hammer: :dazzle: Boy what a week for Idiots.Huh?

********-THREAD DRIFT**********************
...speaking of dangerous close calls on rides, most people out there have heard of the movie "jackass" and or of the show on MTV. Well, before there was jackass there was "CKY" with Bam and the guys and before that (circa 1992-96) there was a magazine called Big Brother- still available but now owned by Larry Flynn Inc. It was a very crazy stuntfilled hardcore skater mag and they produced a series of movies through the mag. Each of these movies is named a different word for feces. Most stunts from jackass are performed by these same people and some of the jackass stuff is directly off of these videos. Well, on episode number 2(I think its called crap) Several skaters and the band Slayer visit Disneyland together, they caused all kinds of havoc and one of the things that made it on the video is a guy jumping off of the second story ledge into the loading dock for the subs at 20K L.U.S., it must be at least 15 or 20 feet down and the channel looks pretty narrow and you don't know how deep it is or what kind of mechanical obstructions are under the water.CRAZY>

thoughts

1) I predict that Splash Mountain boats will eventually be equipped with some type of restraint system, most likely the same seatbelts used in ToT. I'm surprised that it was not originally designed to do so.

2) The man that died on Splash fell down the Laughing Place hill and was crushed by the boat? That ride has a "brake" at the point just prior to plunging down into Laughing Place. There is actually a brake before each drop in the ride. This is to time the boats so that one doesn't rear end the other at a high speed. If CM's were properly monitoring the ride, shouldn't they have been able to "hold" the logs at each brake point, including the Laughing Place break point thus preventing any collision between the man and a boat/log?

3) "Some" of the "stupid" quests posed by guests should be excused. Such as the "are the animals in this ride real" comment. You have to understand what we all have what's referred to in psychology as the "knowledge curse," which leads us to think "are they stupid" when they don't know something that we feel should be obvious.

4) I want to ride Log #13.

I've only had to evac off of one ride and that was Dino-rama. Let me tell ya, that ride doesn't look that tall until your stuck at the top and have to walk down those puny looking catwalks back to the ground. I'm man enough to admit, that scared the crap out of me.. Of course it doesn't help i don't do well with heights :hurl:

I was on Splash when it lost power about 4 or 5 years back. We were right at the bottom of the last lift. There's an exit door right there, and we were escorted all the way around the back (next to the huge dump and water supply). We didn't get to ride again, though because it was the end of the day.

Aaaahhh, good times, good times.:)

Sorry TK but I don't think Splash will ever be getting seatbelts. It would just make the load time slower than it already is. We have a tough enough time as it is trying to get the guests dispatched as fast as possible. Also, if a CM was monitoring the ride and the man did infact die where you said he did then you wouldn't be able to see him on the monitors for very long. That is one of the darkest spots in the ride. And it's not a spot that usually has people jumping out at.

I am afraid theme parks bring out the crazy in people. Las Vegas does it too. Does anyone know exactly why the woman got off? Was she just scared and then wouldn't listen to people yelling at her? These people ruin the whole experience for everyone else. We have to have all the gates, seat belts, long spiels about safety, etc because of stupid people. It is just sad. :hammer:

I think she was scared, but also just plain stupid. If she wouldn't have listened to me when I told her not to move we wouldn't have had to hit the E-stop.

that reminds me of that episode of the simpsons where they go to EFCOT. At the end, Homer says "im going to the magic kingdom." He jumps the gate, and you hear "one churro please" and the seller says "that'll be 8 dollars" And homer screams (but ends up buying one)
