If they keep us wanting more for too long without actually giving it to us people might get bored and go elsewhere. Every recent trip I've had to Orlando included a stop at Universal. That never used to happen.

Didn't Axl Rose pull that in toronto & there was a riot?
So maybe Disney messed up a bit on implementation, the theory still holds. There might, however, be an expiration date on such an action.:D

2 days in Disney turned into 1 day at each park this year. Probably won't visit Disney at all next year or until Pandora is open. 1 d ticket isn't enough to get me to pay 150 bucks to walk through the gates to wait in line for 2 hours. I would more likely to come to fantasy land for a pork shank.

That's what she said!

And omg that dragon is so awesome!!! ......is also what she sad

I had no idea those alleys were so intricate and narrow, it may be a tight fit for all those mouth breathing brainless universal fans... (That's what he said) the whole thing looks amazing though. Those oranges are way better than any apples I saw this year.

Considering Universal is on track to add a new major attraction every year till 2019... while 2018/2019 is the earliest we can get something non-Avatar at WDW.... not much of an "arms war" to me ;)
SO you missed the part where I said it's better for all theme park fans? the better Uni does, the more Disney will have to react, and engage. So yes, we are in the midst of a war of parks.

Not sure why everyone has to compare A vs B here... Mine Train and Gringotts are not the same level. It would be like comparing HULK to Barnstormer. Or Splash to Hippogriff...

BE grateful there is an "arms war" between Universal and Disney. The more Universal succeeds, the more Disney will need to step up. And to be fair, it's better for all of us. Because the place we like to visit the most wil have more awesome attractions than before.

So stop comparing Apples to Oranges. NFL is not a comparison to DA... Universal would have built DA no matter what Disney did, and visa-versa for Disney. Neither were reactionary to the other.
There is no theme park war. Walt Disney World continues to act as though Universal Orlando Resort or anyone else does not exist.

I stopped including AK in my trips, and swapped it for a second day at Uni. So on a 7 day visit to Orlando we do 3 Disney days and 2 Uni days. Where as before it would have been 4 and 1. I'm nostalgic for Disney, and it has a total different emotional impact for me to be in those parks than it does in the Uni parks (more so since the passing of my father...lots of memories).

Uni is bettering their parks, and I bet my kids will have those emotional feelings for the uni parks, that I have for Disney Parks. My son begs for IOA to be our second day visit (MK is always first). That says a lot. Disney will react. They have fallen behind in the build up, and innovation. It will take time, but they will build up. The fact that they have a new Star Wars Crew working should be the first sign of that.

I totally disagree. They are not reactionary. At least not to our tastes, we want immediate reactions. If UNI parks continue to draw money and crowds away from DHS and AK, they will act faster. That is what we all should want. We all want better for the parks, we all win if there is a competition. So route for Uni to do better, because it's a spark in the behind of Disney Parks.
