Periwinkle was a perfectly acceptable color in the 80's. Also, your polo shirt wasn't cool unless it had a Lacoste logo on it.

Indeed, but i was assuming Disney was trying to go for the 'typcial generic 80s look' with that ad, and pink would have fit the task well.
Periwinkle just can't hold a candle to pink in that department. No personal bias against Peri....just not the first color folks think of when they think of '80s fashion'.

Why am i suddenly being reminded of 'Miami Vice' and 'Magnum P.I.'....??

:D

Yes!!!!
Where is Khaleesi!!!?

Super nitpicky, but this is a really frequent blunder for show only watchers. It should be where is Daeneyrs, Khaleesi is just a title for the wife of a Khal (like Queen). Where is "the" Khaleesi is acceptable too. (/nerd) :D

The worse faux pas though is all the people naming their daughter Khaleesi, it's like getting a misspelled tattoo.

Periwinkle was usually paired with Coral. You are right though, Pink and Teal were the most.

Except Jorah calls her Khaleesi all the time.. not 'my Khaleesi', etc.. and that's straight from the books. The title is as you say, but they use it as a direct name as well.

I think it's just that some titles don't have articles in front of them.
There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to it as it's not based on root language, rank or anything else.

For example, you address a lieutenant as "lieutenant", a doctor as "doctor" and a judge as "judge" (or "your honor") but a president as "Mr. or Madame president" and a cabinet secretary as "Mr. or Madame secretary".
Same deal with a Khal or Khalessi, apparently.

A better explanation is that since Jorah is not Dothraki, Daenerys has no authority over him through that particular title. She is not his Khalessi because as a Westerosian he has belongs to no Khalasar and thus has no Khal or Khalessi. So, he recognizes the Dorthraki title she possesses, but does not recognize personal fealty through that title. While Jorah might recognize her claim as Queen of the Andals and the First Men, that still wouldn't make it appropriate to address her as if her other title applied to him personally.

Yeah.
It's like he is calling her "Princess." You wouldn't address her like, "Hello, the Princess."
