Just a observation...as i am familiar with this particular footage.
This video clip was not a tv commercial per say....it was actually a short segment included in the 1988 Disneyland/Walt Disney World Very Merry Christmas Parade television special broadcast.

So it was part of a much longer *tv commercial*....the almost two hour holiday special !

Worth seeking out to watch too...for 80s Disney nostalgia fans.

Why you might ask..?

Roger Rabbit was the Grand Marshall of the parade at DL, and there was a huge *Oliver & Company* float with just about every character from the film...including Jenny!
I won*t even mention the Gummi Bears float....or other delights.
It was a great sampling of where the Company was then.
The *Splash Mountain* segments were strewn about the runtime of the program, with the *rap* clip shown near it*s conclusion.

Ahhh...80s Disney........

:)

I'm still feeling kinda traumatized and then y'all go and point out the pack.

Who do I send my therapists bills to?

Send them to Walt Disney World Accounts Payable Department.

Or, just forego the therapist and instead bring your pack and sunglasses on your next trip to WDW, and you can ask for group therapy with the seven dwarfs...after all, Doc is there!

Question. Why does Disney feel the need to falsify it's product so badly in it's commercials? Some TV ad's show princesses running up to hug your child on a crowd-less Main Street U.S.A. Others show a grass field in front of the castle where (with absolutely NO wait whatsoever), you just walk right up to greet a handful of characters all waiting to see you. And now you have this: Turbo Seven Dwarfs coaster which seems to be a faster ride than RnRC. What gives? If Disney is the #1 tourist destination on the globe, why can't it have the confidence to advertise it's product for what it truely is?
7DMT is a slower-moving family coaster appropriate for smaller children. No shame in that at all.
Remember we are in the SUPER COOL ULTRA MEGA DUPER MAMBA JAMBA EDITION decade.
where everything is over-exaggerated to ridiculous levels.
even infomercials are insane.

Again, this is not new. As already mentioned Tower of Terror commercials showed guests standing in the elevator. And I'm sure there's more examples. They're advertisements, not documentary pieces.

Anyone got an idea when @WDW1974 is going to grace us with his presence again?

I miss his faux one percent snark. :(

In case you missed his snarkiness on another thread...
I interrupt my WELL EARNED Faux Top One Percent Spirited Spring Holiday to say ... Well, y'all just largely don't have a clue how media goliaths like Disney operate and you absolutely don't get why Franklin's contract isn't being renewed.

I leave and you let a wannabe dictate discussion? C'mon, I expect better from all of you.

Poor Georgie K. For a top guy, he's very likely next to find out what being on the bottom is all about. Well, after Georgie asks MacPhee to leave first.

Anyway, while I have much to share with you, I gots to get back to the business of having fun in the sun. But soon enough we'll be talking about Frozen in EPCOT being confirmed to me, when SDL will really open and with a Phase II already being rushed (unlike say DCA's), what WDW is hoping for from its Club 33 outpost, and why DCL will be expanding sooner rather than later (exec comments notwithstanding), maybe even some details on a new night parade for DL and the Wishes replacement for the MK and certainly some refreshing honesty about why DLR is a much better place to spend your vacation dollars than WDW is.

Oh, and before I go back to my holiday, let me congratulate Jason Garcia for that new job. How liberated you must be to be leaving for a job with no pressure whatsoever. Did you really place me on the same level as TWDC on the Twitter? Do you want my ego to grow even larger than my waistline has been of late?

P.S. Did that amazing Potter Swatting kiddie coaster ever open?

P.P.S. Now that a Premier AP costs over a grand, will Lifestylers start charity drives to have their flocks pay for their passes?

#SPIRITLUVSCASSANDRA

Does that mean this thread is no longer worthy??
