So whats the deal with Fastpass do they not distribute them in the parks anymore. You have to order in advance? I've been totally out of the loop

Spent my afternoon setting up my MDE account and linking magic bands, APs, etc., for a family members visit later this month.

I dont know who designed this stuff but its not user friendly at all... nevermind the concept itself. I hate jumping through hoops but this is pretty ridiculous.

While on one hand Disney tells everyone to plan to the Nth degree, they also expect people to be flexible enough to change all their plans at the drop of a hat due to operational issues. Thats a tad ridiculous.

"Suck it up buttercup".......as you say.

Previous iterations of the site seemed more user friendly, now as they have added functionality it is a bit of a cluster, like too many cooks in the design kitchen. The phone/tablet seem easier but with limited functionality.

Totally agree, plus the app hardly worked at all for me to change things on the fly in the park so I would always have to find a kiosk, which was annoying. One of my biggest complaints about FP+ is the perception for me is flexibility but it in reality it has limitations just like legacy did. If you decide to change your FP selections at 2 in the afternoon, don't be surprised if everything you wanted a FP for is not available.

You said it so much better than me.

I agree it's not very user friendly.

I added my pass voucher # and it actually worked perfect as well as adding another ticket for someone else. I was also able to make fastpass selections. It actually went far smoother than I thought it would.

Yah I make it work, but it's slow and I am fast on data entry. SO I get impatient. I just think for all the MM+ money that has been invested by Disney into this infrastructure the website is NOT a shining star

Ours was surprisingly easy though everything was auto-linked when we booked the trip through Disney. I even found the process of securing and changing fastpasses throughout the day via the iphone app to be both easy and convenient. Not having to run across the park to get a FP saved us alot of time. Now I did not enjoy the concept of pre-planning as much as I had to but 75% of what we booked up front changed once we were in the parks i.e. not needing a FP for ride A and changing to a later time on ride B.

Now would I prefer it was still old school? Yeah, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected.

I'm impatient as well with computer stuff, and with fast internet, I expect fast. So it is horribly slow.

Their website is crap.

Because you had an iphone and I had a Galaxy I bet. The app froze on me many many more times that week I was at their parks than I even care to remember. But HAH I have solved that stumbling block. I added a line and got a free Iphone 4s with unlimited EVERYTHING for all my disney app needs. Being a lover of the android platform I also got the the new Galaxy 5S now in my possession and I think my photos really look great. I wouldn't be embarrassed to upload a few of them even for someone like @fractal to view because the camera on the Galaxy 5S ROCKS

Yes well its a real pain when you meet like 4 friends at the park, all with APs, and its not like we can just walk to a fastpass machine. We have to jump through like six hoops to get all on the same "plan" to the point where its just not worth it.

So, my sister and I just booked for Pop Century Saturday May 10. We will be park hopping on Saturday and Sunday!

I will have a keen eye on everything and will report anything of interest, especially the status of the Mine Coaster and MM+. I will not investigate the infamous monorail footer (unless invited to by a CM). I will get caught up with all that's new since my last visit!

It's not unreasonable to think that the late in the game change to projected face animatronics would have also occurred on the longer track.
It's not unreasonable. There is a good chance they would have and I doubt there is any connection between shortening the ride and upgrading the AAs.

Where this all started was a comment by someone that the ride as it turned out was good, but one of the biggest disappointments was that they didn't go with the original plans. My comment back was that technically the original plans did not call for the upgraded AAs (which is true). I would was just throwing it out there that I would rather have the shorter track with better show scenes than the longer track with simple figures. Of course I would rather have the longer track and upgraded AAs. In other words we got the middle version of 3 possible options in my opinion.
