I Just get frustrated when you see how so much of the company was resistant to the structural changes that would have pushed TWDC as a whole towards quality. It seems pretty obvious that Iger never really cares for Pixar in the way that someone like Kathleen Kennedy could.

Anyway spirit, have you seen Steven Soderbergh's talk on the state of cinema. I'll leave it here for folks who haven't seen it.

Iger cares about Pixar, greatly. He spent billions on it and that deal (one that any fanboi who has a brain would have made) has made him look very, very, very good.

Kathy is a different type because she was a filmmaker. She isn't simply an exec, as Iger is. But so long as he doesn't interfere in Emeryville (and all it will take is one flop and while that won't happen with Monsters U, it has gotta sometime one would surmise), it doesn't really matter.

No, I haven't ... thanks will check it out later.

No, Celebrate the Magic does not come close to Disney Dreams in quality, but for what it is, I think CTM is exceptional. I have been surprised that it hasn't received more buzz among fans. If you don't like CTM, you probably won't like Disney Dreams, as the latter is basically the former on PEDs. (Braun style, not A-rod style.)

I would agree on all counts. I just don't get why fanbois are more hot and bothered by two Dumbos or a kids pee while you play area than an actual show that is really quite good.

Doubt I'll ever see Dreams again, though. Enjoyed Disneyland Paris, but if taking an international trip, I'd rather just go see the two best Disney parks, in Tokyo.

Ah, you're hooked on the real pixie dust, Tom. Alas, DLP is closer and I love Paris and Europe and have loved ones over there, so it's an easier call. ... But knowing you (which I don't beyond the online side ... yet) I don't see you not making it to HKDL so you can be true FANBOI ROYALTY ... or SDL, for that matter, when it opens.

But i NEED to get back to TDR ... it's been 2 1/2 years!!!

I'm still trying to figure out where these folks (many that look and act like complete trash) get the type of money to afford $518 a night rooms. Then, I hear about the massive net of spying our government is actively doing on us and I realize how many great government jobs have just popped up since 9/11 and it isn't hard to figure at all.

This is how (something I happened upon going through Disney Cruise videos on Youtube). <grin>

And why would you think they'd care about a guy who died before most of us here were even born?

Do you think Bob Iger, Tom Staggs, Jay Rasulo and Co care? You should ask Diane Disney Miller what she thinks. Or perhaps some of the grandkids ...

I'd love to know what they think of the disney brand and current parks.

Any insight?

Someone needs to send that to Karl Holz. Maybe he'll toss the poor woman and her family a free Dream ...;)

No. If he was gonna comp a cruise for a freak on the internet, I'd want it to be for Zach Anner! Plus, Zach already has a fantastic online travel show!

Spirit, was wondering your thoughts on the villian land that always comes and goes over the years? Do you think it would be a good fit for a new area in MK? Do you know of Disney ever really considering one, or was it always just a rumor?

Looks like Iger and Rasulo are slowly but surely selling their DI$ stock in the name of "scheduled portfolio diversification" at an all time high. I suppose things would look fishy if they dumped all their stock in 2015 when Ep VII, Avengers 2, and Dory come out assuming those films do ridiculously well and the stock price edges to all time high territory.

Just shows that since these two got all they can get out of the company ,it would be wise of them to pull their resources out of the ship while they can since they obviously don't care what happens after they are gone.
Long gone are the days when the Company's leader gambled his life Insurance policy money to fund Disneyland.
Just hope they enjoy their retirement or new career when the new people are left behind to clean up their mess.

They would be foolish not to sell some shares here. They aren't like fanbois who own shares up and down just so they can say they own the company. It's always prudent to rebalance and take profits.
