I still cannot understand why they want to demolish RoA when the Tomorrowland buildings could meet increased capacity.

They don't.

A few weak Imagineers like the idea of destroying more of the original look of the park and replacing it with their vision. But it just isn't going to happen.

Because who actually goes on ROA and rides the boat? Didnt i just ride a boat to get to the park in the first place? I don't know anyone that Goes on it. That is tons of wasted space that could be used for several rides in a new land or sub land!

That's right ... just add more rides any/every where ... how about a rolley coaster in the Hub and really ... why have a castle, you could do soooo much with that land?

Let's have MK be just a rides park because people go to Dizzy World so they can ride rides, dammit!!!

...still waiting to hear something... Anything... Out of Disney that will make me want to jump through the hoops to make a visit. I don't goto Disney out of an obligation to go on some regular schedule.

While I like the place... It really lacks the umps to make it seem worth the investment. Still desperately waiting for Disney to inspire me...

You may have a long wait if your vision of Disney starts and ends with the swamps of Central Florida ...

Yep, it's probably WDW's best kept secret ;). If they put a ride off of that path, it would be interesting to see if people struggle to find the way to it. Certainly would help to spread out crowds a bit given the walkway is lightly used.

It isn't a great place for an attraction or expansion without quite a bit of infastructure work.

They could simply bulldoze Storybook Circus and put something of substance there.

Spirit, any thoughts on that tweet about Lasseter allegedly turning into an egomaniac.
Maybe he should head to the vineyards with Nancy.

And why would you think they'd care about a guy who died before most of us here were even born?

Do you think Bob Iger, Tom Staggs, Jay Rasulo and Co care? You should ask Diane Disney Miller what she thinks. Or perhaps some of the grandkids ...
They did trot out Roy's grand kid at the shareholder meeting in support of the weatherman IIRC

I kind of like the idea of gradually replacing the "tents" part of storybook circus and building out a little "town" of Carolwood Park, building on the architecture of the new train station. Might be a good place for, say, a Lady & the Tramp dark ride, or a Mickey & friends dark ride...

I've heard some folks spout similar tales of John. I believe they are likely true to a point. You can't be as successful as he's been in a tough business and not start thinking how amazing you are. ... I don't agree with everything the man says or does ... or every creative decision he backs ... but I do believe he is the closest thing to a Walt at the company at a high level. Quality and doing things right matter to John. And that is a huge thing nowadays.

It will be a major loss to Disney when JL decides to retire, which may well happen sooner than many think.

Well....

(1) putting in money into infrastruture to increase the capacity and land for guest use in the MK seems to me to be a good thing. Better use of money than tearing down an existing land just to replace it with no net capacity gain.

(2) I'd prefer to speak in practical terms since we know that TDO isn't going to replace something they just built like Storybook Circus. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't think adding a ride to Tomorrowland or Adeventureland, etc. is likely to be in the cards anytime in the near future, but it's got to be far more likely than having them bulldoze Dumbo and Barnstormer.

That said, I think Storybook Circus would have been far better off if they had just done a circus themed ride (perhaps even with Mickey & Co as the basis) instead of the Pete's Silly Sideshow M&G. Of course, that pretty much is the story of the FLE where the space was just not used efficiently (not enough rides given the land involved).

They need to burn it down after a "fireworks" accident and use the insurance to build something. It's not like there are not 40 other places I can get the same merch.

Just saying:

I Just get frustrated when you see how so much of the company was resistant to the structural changes that would have pushed TWDC as a whole towards quality. It seems pretty obvious that Iger never really cares for Pixar in the way that someone like Kathleen Kennedy could.

Anyway spirit, have you seen Steven Soderbergh's talk on the state of cinema. I'll leave it here for folks who haven't seen it.

Wouldn't u like to see 2 or 3 new rides instead of a slow boat ride! I don't know anyone who would pick the boat over several new attractions!
<---- my avatar and name may provide a hint as to whether I would pick that paddlewheel steamboat cruise on the RoA over a Woody ride.

(Come to think of it, I may in fact prefer a hot rod in the eye over a Toy Story ride in Liberty Square)

No, it's not Disney Dreams. But how many fanbois have been over to see that show. I've seen it in person four times, myself. ... We are not all @WDWFigment after all!

No, Celebrate the Magic does not come close to Disney Dreams in quality, but for what it is, I think CTM is exceptional. I have been surprised that it hasn't received more buzz among fans. If you don't like CTM, you probably won't like Disney Dreams, as the latter is basically the former on PEDs. (Braun style, not A-rod style.)

Doubt I'll ever see Dreams again, though. Enjoyed Disneyland Paris, but if taking an international trip, I'd rather just go see the two best Disney parks, in Tokyo.

For what it's worth:
1. I am a huge Soderbergh fan and will watch pretty much anything he makes
2. I believe that Kathleen Kennedy could do great things for the studios side of TWDC. I hope that she could perform similarly well for P&R, TV, etc.

Question: is it too early to suggest that potential public backlash against MM+/NGE (the bad parts) could reach similar levels to what we've seen wih Microsoft's Xbox One, or as they say on NeoGAF "Xbone"? Microsoft PR has been very misleading and only this week attempted to explain how things like constant Internet connectivity, used games, or giving games to friends/playing at friend's houses works. MyMagic + in many ways raises similar questions regarding issues like being forced to plan every detail in advance and stratification of the guest experience in the parks to basic security issues like getting another family's info on the app.

Also this:http://www.businessinsider.com/microsoft-positive-reddit-comments-2013-6

XBone is dead, especially with DRM and how much bad press they have received about that and always online. (Plus how underpowered it is but that's a different topic...)
