this doesn't pose well for fanboy dreams... DLP finally starts fixing their maintenance issues... they upgrade their shows (castle show), they announce a major new attraction (rat), they open an extremely popular one (crush coaster), they get a savior in their debts... and the result of all this is an accelerated race to the fatal bottom?

I would expect drastic hour changes, and maybe hotel shutdowns.. but I can't see them closing the park to save money. The blackeye would be so huge... reduced operations I could understand. But questions over payroll? Disney would be forced to fund loans before any of that were to become anywhere close to real.

Disney already has been forced to fund loans for EDSCA.....

The only reason they didn't order work on Ratatouille to cease is because DLRP is actually being forced to pay Imagineering the outrageous budget they ran up for this ride. As far as WDC is concerned, they are already making their money on this ride. Whether or not it opens and ends up generating income for the resort itself is of little concern to WDPR administration given the headwinds DLRP is facing.

Kitchen Calamity is a Tom Fitzgerald joint, right?

"But something has definitely ... well, changed. (I am not sure what kind of smiley should be used here because it is both good and bad, both happy and sad and frankly years in the making.)" - WDW1974

After what was reported today, all I can say is....

Is that Spirit in that video?

...don't think BWV actually thought Spirit was in the video. But I do agree with your opinion of the movie, and I am a huge Leo fan.

I cannot wait for "The Wolf of Wall Street", easily the film that I'm most looking forward to this fall. Matthew McConaughey has also been on a roll with Bernie, Killer Joe (Which I haven't seen but heard good things) and Mud.
Maybe DiCaprio wins the Oscar this year.

HONG KONG – 20th Century Fox will open its first international theme park in Malaysia, in 2016, as a partnership with local property conglomerate Genting Malaysia.

The licensing deal with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products, will feature 25 rides and attractions at the park based on movies including “Ice Age,” “Life of Pi,” “Rio,” “Alien” and “Night at the Museum” (pictured).

The park is an upgrade of 25 acres of Resorts World Genting, the hilltop theme park and hotels destination that Genting has operated for the past 35 years at a site an hour outside Kuala Lumpur.

“Brought to life by our partner Resorts World Genting, this theme park marks the launch of our global location based entertainment strategy,” said Jeffrey Godsick, consumer products president of 20th Century Fox.

“This landmark development is our first response to the growing demand for theme parks with a cinematic nature,” said Genting Malaysia’s chairman Lim Kok Thay today at a press conference in the Malaysian capital.

Lim said that Genting Malaysia expects invest some $125 million (RM400 million) in the theme park project, and an overall $937 million (RM3 billion). Genting will close its current park from September until the revamped park re-opens in 2016.

The resort was built at altitude in the Genting Highlands in order to minimize Malaysia’s heat and humidity. Last year it received some 20 million visitors.

TWDC would never sell WDW but they might sell Disneyland and DCA if the price was right.

The Socialist Government is probably not going to be very keen on bailing out Euro Disney SCA, but they might be open to allowing Disney to buy out the other shareholders and fully integrate the Company into Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Despite control of the SCA, The Walt Disney Company only owns about one third and does technically loan money versus directly investing like with the US parks.

@WDW1974is there any reason why Disney posted on their official blog that there will be "teases for new Avatar and Star Wars attractions for our parks" but later decided to retract that by telling /Film "
We’ve been contacted by Disney Imagineering and told the quotes we originally reported, though from an official Disney website, were incorrect. Frank Reifsnyder, Communications & Media Relations Manager for Walt Disney Imagineering said, “There will be teases to Star Wars and to Avatar but nothing about any attractions or experiences based on those properties. Nor are we releasing any new information on those at the D23 Expo.”"

To me, this statement sounds non committal. So if nothing happens they won't look like doofises... I don't know about you but this is starting to be a game. "There will be teases". WWWHHHOOO cares. Is this to get fans whipped up into a frenzy??? Is this suppose to get our attention away from UNI? When did they announce Avatar and how far along are they? Personally, I will believe it only when anything moves ground. " There will be teases"..,... PPPPEEEWWWWW:mad:
