Ummm...it's pretty easy to track the number of guests in the park. Tickets are scanned. When I worked at Six Flags, we'd receive hourly updates on attendance. It's not rocket science. CMs at attractions, I'm sure, keep a rounded count of the number of guests per hour, pretty easily (if less accurately).
WDW's attendance is a closely guarded corporate secret. Even organizations such as TEA, supposedly the best public source for attendance at most theme parks, gets it wrong. Sometimes by a lot.

Can a casual WDW guest tell whether 45,000 or 50,000 people attended the Magic Kingdom today? How about 23,000 or 25,000 at DHS? Yet the difference between these numbers spread out over 365 operating days represents a profound impact on corporate revenue.

Several methods are available to estimate crowd levels. However, even well-tried methods used by experienced hands come up with wildly varying estimates. Estimates for rallies held on the National Mall often vary by hundreds of thousands.

I'm suggesting that trying to project a sufficiently accurate estimate to truly understand what's happening at the macro level at WDW seems to be beyond current technic. While I think it's possible to come up with gross estimates, these have sufficiently large margins of error that make it difficult to truly comprehend trends. Is WDW attendance up 5% or down 5% this summer? Again, I'm suggesting that the margin of error used by any estimating technic drowns out such variance as nothing but noise.

Yet, corporately, up 5% vs. down 5% represent two very different business cases at WDW.

In all the excitment earlier I forgot to ask, Do any of the proposals that Bob Iger showed the BOD feature plans for a My Little Pony acquisition? I know there are still (closed minded) people who roll their eyes whenever My little pony fans talk but it's a very serious counter culture movement on the internet and could be a big revenue stream for Disney. Instead of wasting money on Star Wars and Monsters Inc. it would be more financially prudent to invest in a My Little Pony land where bronies can interact with their favorite ponies and ride all kinds of amazing rides in magic land.

Gotta get back to the 'important stuff' we've been talking about here ... Like @Lee being a brony and which burger is best. Most importantly, I really want to encourage folks go see Lone Ranger because it is one of the best movies currently out and a fun ride.

But I am NOT a BRAND advocate and I kicked the dust addiction many years ago, to my old pal 'the Captain' ... If you said that to me, son, I'd sip on a mint julep as I watched Lee kick your . You do NOT call me such slurs in the Twitverse .... @EPCOT Explorer sure.

BTW, did Merfie really take a shot at him and call him 'Foamer in Chief'? Just bless his heart, no bless them both cause they need it. I'd love to hang out with them one day at EPCOT discussing wall carpeting, the Costa Rica pavilion and Card Walker. That would be wet your pants fun! OK ... Time to eat.

I couldnt agree with you more, me too, it was a fantastic fun movie, its horrible how the media and critics are just ruining it. It is def a fun ride and more should be going to see it. I would see it again thats how much I enjoyed it.

Eric's got a sick sense of humour...and I love it!

That's just wrong on about 10 different levels.

It's not my thing, but to each his own. Why judge?
I will repeat... Pony. Erotica. Based on a little kid's tv show. Yes, it is fine that they enjoy the show, but again, it is first and foremost for children. imagine if your 10 year old went searching for pony stories and found those. I'm sorry, but writing stories like that is freaking weird. My first statement was said mainly in jest. Apparently I must have struck some kind of nerve of yours...

Really great points, and a bit worrying to think about for Sea World. And I'm one of those folks who don't drink AB products any more. I used to have a Season Pass at BGW in the 1990's and enjoyed it, even went to Budweiser Beer School at the brewery via the monorail once. Never again.

I'm buying solely locally brewed beers now, as SoCal has a lot of great local and small breweries. But I used to be a Michelob man. Not any more, and InBev and their corporate masters in Brussels can sell Busch Gardens to the North Koreans for all I care.

Sound pretty bitter they keep beating that little place out west for Worlds Most Beautiful year after year after year after year after year. I think you get the picture.

Which some would say about a Disney fanatic as well, pot meet kettle. Enable safe search.

All I can say to that is woah nellie.... ;

And that they forgot that all important fifth category of the creepy dudes who write the pony erotica. I only wish I were making that up.

I actually have run into this issue...when my kiddo was looking for MLP videos on youtube.

I had to pay very close attention to which "links" she clicked on...

Are you a secret pony writer?? I really am not getting the hostility. I'm not a Disney fanatic. I don't think you understand the definition of fanatic if you are using that word. Certainly there are those on this board who meet that description, but many others do not. And safe search can only do so much, as @englanddg noted above.

Some Disney fans are guilty of this too, you know. All fandoms have that level of crazy.
Ain't that the truth... I have no problems whatsoever with people liking Disney characters (or My Little Pony), but sorry, I would say the same thing about Disney erotica. It's pretty weird, and suggests an obsession at a whole nother level. Just my opinion. *shrug*

'Cause weird is weird. Nothing wrong with calling it what it is...
Damn weird.

Wait...they do that?!?!
That takes weird into previously unheard of realms, right there.

Distance must be kept from that sort...
It is true Lee. Like I said, I wish I was joking. I too had to keep my little cousins away from um, certain "special" links on YouTube the way @englanddg had to with his daughter. So I concur! Weird is weird. ;)
