I couldn't help but think of a certain Spirit during our dinner at BOG last week. It was actually quite good, but I think part of that was thanks to lowered expectations from everyone poo-pooing it lately. Now, it was nowhere near as good as what we had at Flying Fish the following night, but I didn't really expect it to be. And yes, the cherubs on the ceiling are just creepy.

I also, unfortunately, picked up on a few of the other Spirit gripes on our trip. Several of the ride buildings were way too warm - Nemo at Epcot was the worst. The queue was nice and cool, but the ride itself was just barmy. Also, the lack of resort specific merchandise! Beach Club had exactly 5 items - a mug, 2 t-shirts, polo shirt, and a magnet. Of course the Poly has an entire store full of merchandise. The CM (who noticed I was buying one of nearly every BC item available) mentioned that it took lots of guest letters just to bring back this level of resort merchandise, so I guess it's better than nothing.

Oh well, at least Splash still looked amazing and we had a great time! Can't wait to go back - even if my experiences now have a slightly Spirited slant!

I too ate at BOG last week AND stayed at the sister resort the Yacht Club, and I share your sentiments. YC merchandise had exactly 1 resort specific clothing item for men...a basic polo with Yacht Club embroidered on it. I went by BC gift shop as well, and as limited as the offerings were, they still had more than YC. Similar thoughts on BOG as well. Obviously it is priced for the experience rather than the quality of food, but I thought the meal was more than adequate. You just have to determine if the atmosphere is worth the cost, and for us it was...one time.

I don't see why anyone would feel the need to eat at BoG for dinner. Lunch costs less, does not require an ADR and still gets you in to see the place. Even the 30 min wait is still less than the time it takes to reach somebody on Disney's reservation phone line.

You can get a free ticket (or coupon worth $10 US $12 CND) for Lone Ranger if you buy Oz on Blu-ray and type the code into Disney Movie Rewards. Not pushing the purchase, just FYI if you're already buying it for yourself or your kids.

I find a 30 minute wait for counter service just so not acceptable that this would be no option for me. And since Disney introduced online dining reservations quite some while ago - why would you wait 30 minutes on a phone line??? The only problem with the dining reservations is that if your computer is set to a time zone outside the US it totally confuses the new website which gives you a lunch reservation when you say you want a 7pm dinner. I only got it to work when I set my German computer to EST.

I'm well aware of online booking, but either way the demand has made it hard to get a table for dinner either way. The 30min wait is worth it if the place is a must-see for your party and you want to save some money.

And if you happen to have a trip planned out long term and stay on property, getting a BoG ADR at 180+10 days out isn't too much of an inconvenience either if you are set on seeing it. :) It does not save you money though...

Oh, and on another front, as I type this Tony Baxter is being given a proper good-bye (sorry, fanbois he is done with Disney and he is too much of a fanboi himself to go work for UNI or someone else) at DL's Club 33.

Yay!!
About time, too...and worth waiting for as I heard it was a rousing good time for all.

This photo sums up my happiness....

That info was leaked because it fit someone in the company's agenda to leak it. It also wasn't as big a deal as the person it leaked to claimed it was. It is, after all, just the rethinking of a mall.

I would guess that things may well come out leading up to D23. I just hope that the crazies don't spend the next two months speculating. What's going to happen is going to happen at this point. There won't be a last-minute huge announcement.

So ... still haven't seen Iron Man 3 ... but I think I'll catch Man of Steel this weekend!

Going to see Man of Steel tonight. For once Walmart is good for something with their 7pm showing tonight. Don't have to wait until midnight.

I haven't been this excited to see a movie in a long time. There are a few things that have stuck with me from my childhood, Star Wars, The Muppets, Batman and Superman. I remember seeing the original in the theater and I remember being so dissapointed with Superman Returns. I have been waiting for a modern day Superman, one that takes into account the modern version of Superman, which is basically a god walks among us and what it would be like if he appeared in this day and age, I really hope they pulled it off. I like Zach Snyder. I was one of the few who liked Sucker Punch, unlike that poc Michael Bay, Zach can pull off amazing and coherent action sequences and is pretty good filmmaker when he has a great script.

So Superman means alot to me. I haven't been this excited to see a movie since Star Wars Episode I and we remember how that went. Hopefully, this will be alot better.
