I watched Dark Skies (dvd) last night. It scared the crap out of me. Which isn't easy to do, but it's a good horror movie. No need for blood guts and gore. Think of all the horror movies that were truly 'scary' in their time, and combine it into one.

I'd highly recommend it. Just not before bedtime. :)

I only pay for 3D if it is a far preferable show time. Whenever possible, I avoid the surcharge. The one time it was ever worth paying extra for 3-D was Avatar.
Yeah, I tried avoiding it for Iron Man 3 but my scheduele only allowed 3D. Fortunately my theater has MOS in 2D at 7:15 so I'll probably see it Monday.

Same thing happened to me with Star Trek. It was a cr@ppy 3-D conversion and it showed. Anymore, 3-D is a cheap cash grab. Most American audiences have caught on but it's still popular overseas.

Iron Man 3 did a decent conversion with depth, but I wouldn't have minded saving $3. Avengers was the only movie that had a good post conversion IMO.

Equally funny, but in a totally different way.
It's like they gave Rogan, McBride, Hill and Co. a budget and said "Go make the craziest damn movie you can."

And, boy, did they ever!
I'll probably give it a rent (or wait for it to hit You Tube ;) ) when it comes out to Blu Ray/DVD/Digital/whatever.

Also, I was recently watching an E3 video on IGN and a MOS ad played before it. I love how they say "Experience it in IMAX 3D and 2D" completely skipping 3D :p

It's kind of what they did. I was listening to a Nerdist podcast from a few weeks ago and Rogan was talking about their process on this film. They'd been kind of riffing on the idea for the film for years, constantly working on it and building it. Then when they got into filming, they said they kind of "peer pressured" each other into trying to out-do each other. I went from not really being interested in this movie to now being stuck in-between "wait for DVD" and "Get a babysitter and hit the theater".

Really?! Because it looks absolutely fantastic, is getting fairly good reviews and all around looks likely to be a hit.

Saying that, in the UK there hasn't been a whole lot of advertising, but there's still 3 weeks until we get it, so there's time I guess.
But this is what we've been talking about. So much is built around fewer films it isn't enough to just be a hit, you need a super hit.

I like the Sopranos ending. Simple on the surface, but complex when you look closer at how it was set up and what it meant.
I didn't like the ending. I was one of those people who thought their cable went out. I was so ed...thinking, "NOT NOW!! OMG, how could it go out NOW?!" Then it was over and I was like, "What? Did I miss the end? Is it just over?" Eventually, i knew it ended that way...so disappointed. After all those years, it ends with me thinking my cable went out.

After watching it again, I was (and remain) convinced that Tony died.

It could have been more clear.

I'm okay with it now, but when it aired, I was ed, confused and then disappointed.

All this talk of summer movies...

The only movie I've wanted to see is Before Midnight. I love Richard Linklater's films, so I'm looking forward to it.

I'm sure it's just me, but I've really tired of superhero films that build to the perfunctory 40-minute action set piece at the end. I'm very curious to see how the Thor and Captain America sequels do, because they don't have the star power of Iron Man.
Oh wow..I didn't even know they were making a 3rd film!! One of my all time favorite films. Let's see if this can go on every 9 years

Totally understandable. The blackout was confusing at first.
Then I did a little reading online where folks had figured it out. Made sense to me then, and is actually a pretty powerful ending.

Agreed.

But I also think the people making it purposely made it that way so that they could have as powerful a death scene as possible while still leaving the possibility of him not dying (and being alive for a movie) on the table.

People talk about the artistic and intelligent ending, but I think cash was the real reason for the ambiguity...and the reason nobody ever clarified it, too. They were thinking they might be able to make a movie later and that would be difficult if they couldn't say, "No, no. He didn't REALLY die..."

I do think he died, though.

Tony is a lot like Walter White...I know he's a bad guy, but feel for him, like him and want things to work out for him. :). (Tony was cuter, though.)

I hope we get a definitive ending from Breaking Bad!

That they did.

Ya know, all this TV show talk and what not made me remember a post from @WDW1974 a while back...I believe he was telling us that Pretty Little Liars was his favorite TV show or something...

Does it matter? It ended however your Imagination said it did.

Now, everybody sing!

I'm really hoping Breaking Bad gets the best finale ever. Also, I hope the Saul Goodman spinoff happens, love that guy.
