New video of Springfield U.S.A. posted by Attractions Magazine. Kang & Kodos Twirl 'n' Hurl is not open yet, so the walls are still up around the attraction and the surrounding area. It also looks like some last minute touches have not yet been put into place, such as the Welcome to Springfield sign and the lines on the street.

Like I said, I had my doubts about how this would look, but now that the construction walls are down... I LOVE IT!!!

Eh still not a fan of the area but I bet it will look better in the evening time

Am I the only one that thinks this is woefully short sighted?

So... to quote the Wire, They're Juking the stats?

So instead of actually addressing the problems and reasons why people dont stay at DAK/DHS all day, they'd rather address that people park hop?

We're only trying to make this look good on paper and make it look good to some business analyst? Seriously?

Is management this out of touch or have the beancounters truly taken over?

The irony of this is those arent really "Craft Beers", theyre all very Mainstream. I cant find most of those in the supermarket.

Other interesting tidbit, you have to pay to get your beer/food product into Food and Wine. Plus Disney then buys it wholesale from you at like 40%. Found that out from a beer guy as well as someone trying to get their foodie noms into the show.

Dogfish head is mainstream, but very much still a craft beer. Heck, if you aren't owned by Inbev right now, I could consider you a craft beer, ha.

Unfortunately it seems that they have.

So nice and new, and clean.... I wonder how long it will take before the graffiti starts on the statues?

Maybe it's a way to address the transportation issues. Less park hopping means less need for buses.

We park hop just about everyday. This new FP+ system is a huge negative for my family and I.

First thing that came to my mind too, after what happened to the cars at AoA.

The difference, though, is that with Springfield, you have a constant flow of Universal cast members throughout the area and have presence, which might deter some of the mindless, degenerates that would do things to the statues. At AoA, they are much more isolated from employees watching over the area for much of any given time.

I think it looks bare because the trees are still young - it should look much better in a couple of years. All I can think is "I'll bet it's hot right now - where's the shade?" Which is why I'll wait until January to visit. I haven't been in several years, so I'll have a lot of new things to see. And I hope Mythos is still as good as the last time I visited - we ended up eating there twice.

That's true, at night we have walked around there and it was completely dead.

When you signed up you agreed to these terms and conditions, which includes moderating of posts. There is no first amendment here - the site is privately ran, and is a United Kingdom based web site.
Terms and Rules

I would also add that I believe our moderation here is extremely lenient.
It is as lenient as you will find, and I for one appreciate the opportunity for thoughtful discussions. I also saw the new signature rules - bravo. Far too many post on Disney discussion boards for the sole purpose of SEO baiting and pilfering people to their own sites.

Looks great. I, however, don't understand why Nelson is on the Kwik-e-mart sign.
I thought the same thing, but then I realized that he is attached to one of the tentacles around Twirl 'n' Hurl. He is probably a target, since the ride is supposed to double as an interactive shooter.

TDO wants to curtail park hopping especially to MK. MM+ is partly designed to do so. If you have FP'sfor ToT, TSMM and Fantasmic you won,t be leaving. That he,ps poop JP numbers at the other three gates that need it.

I can understand wanting to curtail park hopping for two reasons...

1. If people are leaving the parks, then they are more likely to go to their hotel room or a non-Disney establishment to eat/spend money before going to another park at night.
2. This puts more stress on the internal transportation system with people taking buses/boats/monorails between places.

Of course, the easy solution to park hopping and to the reduced numbers at the other parks is to, I dunno, have more things to do there to keep people in the parks. It certainly doesn't help if you cut entertainment options like the parades.

Keep in mind that it isn't done yet! Apparently a lot of details still need to be put into place. And yes, I can't wait to see it at night! I bet the Twirl 'n' Hurl is tons of fun while the nighttime show is occurring. And the Duff Gardens area looks like it would be fun to grab a drink and a snack and sit by the water to watch CineSpec.

I can hear it now:

"What do you mean the tourists see it as a half day park? It's got SIX distractions! Plus, we've budgeted for like 10 meet-n-greet locations. And that Fantasia night show!"

No, we're talking about making stats for each park look better by keeping people stuck in one park each day. Its about not seeing the entire whole, rather theyre seeing individual trees. Its another example of how everything at WDW is a separate business unit competing with one another.

Transportation's shortcomings are another subject entirely.
