What is the point of posting a report on the Disney Parks Blog about the giveaway. Do Disney think that it is a good idea to tell the masses that a select few are given a free dinner and gift card, yet if you want to go, you can expect to pay $100+ per head.

That is something I do not understand at all. It is like these bloggers telling their flocks to dine as I say and not as I (do not) pay.

It's August. It's 2013. In Orlando. At a restaurant in the middle of a vacation resort, best-known for its view of a fireworks show. Sorry Mr. Draper, but I think polo shirts are perfectly acceptable. Also, I'm all up on your lawn, playing my music too loud.

(But seriously this is an undercurrent of classism to this discussion that is annoying at best, disingenuous at worst. Not your comment, but the idea that people who've eaten at Red Lobster or Olive Garden couldn't possible enjoy a finer meal at Cali Grill, for instance. I'm sure there's a pretty huge overlap between Darden and Disney's client bases, and I have no problem with that.)

While classism may offend some folks, boorish behavior from people whose 'tudes toward their fellow man is a giant middle finger offends me a whole lot more.

And while a nice polo shirt should be acceptable at a place like the Grill, on any given night you will see many examples of what isn't located all around the dining room because of those type of 'tudes.

First... I have hot friends. ;) Second... she knows her wine (& vodka).

I keep telling you that in the real world, Tom is a very likeable nice guy who's pretty quiet.

Wrong Tommy.

I try not to mention anyone whose ego is already oversized.

If the Universal/Legendary Pictures distribution deal means that Universal can get the theme park rights for Godzilla, I gotta say that I would totally be up for a meet and greet with a guy in a rubber suit based on the new design.

Also, I think he'd look good next to Peter Jackson's Kong if they decided to do a "King Kong vs Godzilla: Revengeance" ride.

While I am taking my usual shots at the lifetyler twits, I gotta mention this: Brigante is complaining because UNI had the audacity to schedule their media preview of Horror Nights on the SAME night of the first MNSSHP.

Can you imagine that?

Because it would be too much to wait until FRiday for the media night at the party (when all the whores get in for free) and take pictures and report that the event is exactly the same as it was last year and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that except for logo merchandise ...oh, but Friday is also that LTM promo where the Studios (the park with almost no attractions) stays open until 1 a.m. For a half assed villains event (no Bob, no Tom, no Jay equals no villains for me!) AND yet another DPB meet that they all got invited to.

What is a to do? These poor folks. The decisions they have to make for 'work'.

EDIT TO ADD: You really should check out old Ricky's Twitter feed and watch him get schooled on ethics and media and what Disney expects for freebies from Andy Castro and a PR pro. And Ricky is SUPPOSED to be one of the smarter apples.
Thanks for calling my husband a .

There are hundreds, if not thousands of WDW websites. Most of them do not have any significant traffic however.

Like I've said before, I'd love to know how most of them stack up against this site or simply threads like this one or Sotto's that get loads of eyeballs.

My strong belief is most of them added together don't have the reach that MAGIC does.

I heard some folks around me asking (out loud) if she was for real or a plant, and others knew instinctively she was an actress. I knew right away, because her mode of interaction was of a certain type that I had seen in the private-party-Great Movie Ride dinner I got invited to by a company a few years ago, and they had similar in your face equity actors. It wasn't necessarily obvious from her demeanor that she WAS making fun of bloggers in a mean-spirited way; it could just as easily have been meant in good nature. It was, however, fairly intrusive and not the sort of thing I consider fun, even giving it the benefit of the doubt.
She is also one of the actresses that sits outside the mansion during the not so scary events.

This was my first event with the Parks Blog (except one where I was the guest of someone else, two years ago). I planned to mention the $50 card in my write up, as it kind of shocked me when I saw it. But I did *not* know that the media were given the card as well on their evening a few days ago. Interesting.
Yes, the media invitees got the exact same bag you received during the blog meet up.

I haven't posted here in awhile but holy buckets was that video hilarious, as others have said, for all the wrong reasons. Fill a room with socially inept people, who's every waking (and eating apparently) moment revolves around Disney. Openly mock them, with most if not all being oblivious to it and then fill them with alcohol...one apparently for the first time. Mr. Beard is comedy gold. I'm all for people loving Disney, we all do or we wouldn't be here, but there is so much more to life and many of these people are missing out on a lot of it.

I think they're playing a quantity game. They want the big blogs, of course, but they also want enough of the small ones so that when you google " RESORT REVIEW" (or whatever other Disney destination you have in mind, I just picked that one at random :D) most of the pages you get (outside Yelp and such) will all be on blogs - big and small - that they in some sense bought and paid for.

It's like their own state-run media... because Google has in many ways replaced the Sunday Travel Section.

That is definitely not "Mr. Beard's" first time drinking. LOL!
