Also should add the MAPS were a pain... why did they flip Epcot on the park map?
The maps they have are terrible. It bugs me that they've made them so darn small. If you saw the old maps, you wouldn't believe it. They were easy to use! You could find things using those!

Te maps they have now are terrible. Disney should have better park maps!!!

When did they switch to the new maps? Does someone have a picture so I could compare to the old maps?
It isn't just the recent switch, where they turned the parks around on the maps.

Ten years ago, the map of the parks was six to eight times as large as it is now. Little by little, they've made the park smaller on the maps.

That doesn't surprise me... Gotta cut costs somewhere right? *sigh*. But yeah, I looked them up... The Epcot one especially is really stupid with the flip. The maps have been oriented the same way since the 1990s, and I doubt they had any complaints about the orientation. But what does Disney do best? Fix something that ain't broke. Thank you MM+! I love it more and more everyday...

It used to be a booklet for crying out loud. Then again, that was when there was more stuff to do(before someone gives me stats on attraction counts, I mean themed shopping, restuarants, the whole package).

Must be me but, I don't see what is so complicated about those maps. They look almost the same to me. If Epcot is any indication they didn't flip it over at all. MK enters from the south and Epcot enters from the north yet the orientation of the maps is almost identical. Worst case scenario...you turn the map so that the entrance is by your belly and it is the same.

It's alarming how many people don't know how to read a map.
Edit: no offense to anybody here.

Pleeease let it be Star Trek!

In a way I don't know of any other major space themed franchises that would be good....in another way, I'm not sure how they would do it...since there's now 5 separate series and now a rebooted movie franchise.

I realize there aren't several different series with Star Wars, but do you understand how much IP goes under that name? Books, shows, etc.

They would probably need to go with the original characters. Most name recognition. Could get Priceline to sponsor the ride;)

MGM is the worst of them..

The problem with them IMO is they've gone for this realistic aspect when drawing out the maps... which look slick... do they really serve the true purpose? The stylized maps in the past were done that way to emphasize some things while making other things LESS obvious.. and this is intentional. The more realistic you make things, the more you challenge the suspension of disbelief when you realize just how close things are and how they back up to each other, etc.

I'm chalking this up as evidence that I am the only person alive that likes the new maps.

Hmm. Interesting. I think Id actually go with the new cast if I were doing a Star Trek attraction. Guess just thinking of what they would do with the old cast... Probably sounds bad, but they are old and honestly much of my generation knows Shatner from the Priceline commercials better than the original Star Trek. Im unusual in that I've at least seen some of the first movies though I've mostly seen the Next Gen movies. Just not sure the recognition is there and no offense, but I don't want/need to see new filmed seems of old and fat Kirk... Guess if they maybe went a dark ride/AA route it could work but Star Trek seems more geared to a faster paced attraction.
