Spider-Man Ride Patent for DLR

Maybe what I mean is that it would be the same experience? I dunno lol. I just don't see that big of a difference between ToT and MB I guess.

ToT was always a pretty shallow (yet cool) experience IMO, so that may be why. Changing Pirates (a 10+ min long slow moving story ride) to Thor, on the otherhand, is a pretty radical change! Saying they're both the same is like saying just because you see two movies in the same theater, it's the same experience!

Spider-Ride, Spider-Ride,
Get on board for a Spider-glide!
Spins a web, any size,
Projection-mapped, no big surprise
Look Out!
Here comes the Spider-Ride.

The original was one of the first attractions to blend real motion (not just a static simulator) and screens and IMO remains the best example of how the two can be used together. I don't think even Harry Potter does it better as I think it's far too chaotic to understand what's happening.

Well I didn't say they were the same thing. I said it would be the same ride with a different story, but I see your point.

I'm not sure what the turning point was for me, because the changes didn't used to bother me so much or at all. I think it's a combo of my eyes being opened in general to the ridiculous ways our society is changing (do you know how crazy and overly sensitive public schools have gotten? Raising a boy that goes to public school is a full time job, teachers FLIP over everything!!!!!!) and the decisions Disney is making seem to be getting dumber by the day.

It's not just characters because I'm a Disney fan so I'm not opposed to some character and movie references, but it's the way characters and IPs are literally taking over every single thing and expanding to new things in every direction.

Amen sistah! How long have I been saying this? I finally cooled down and stopped complaining as much because the public loves it. This stuff literally has the parks bursting at the seams.

I really wish they'd leave Spidey alone. The IOA attraction is going to be almost impossible to beat. 18 years later, it's still one of the best theme park attractions around. A swinging inverted coaster track doesn't give me a whole lot of faith that this will top the original. This ride system looks like Peter Pan meets the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train.

Really, I haven't been on the Uni Spidey ride but isn't it like a better version of transformers? I've been on Transformers at USH and I'm not a huge fan. I really couldn't get a good feel for it on the YouTube ride thru video. Don't you think the ride system in the patent is better suited for a Spider-Man ride and the motion of the character?

I've never been on Transformers, but Spider-Man is a phenomenal attraction. You know me, I don't like anything, so it must be good.

One of my favorite waiting lines too. They made it look like you're inside one of the old funny books. Pretty impressive how they translated the 2D funny book art to three dimensions for real people to walk through. They don't even do that for the Marvel movies.

I'm not sure I like this version of you. Where is the Kira that hates everything? You ve been uncharacteristically positive lately.

Well, I did migrate to the other side of the country where I don't have to spend all my money on the state of California and they don't alter The Haunted Mansion. Maybe it was good for me?

Good on you. I've been thinking about bailing for years now but never pull the trigger.

Spider-Man was the ride I'd rank #1 until FoP came out.

Transformers is like it in that it uses the same tech, but also includes the indecipherable non-stop blur of shiny things exploding like in any Transformers movie. Imagine riding Spider-Man but with a strobe pointed at your face.

Agree with this completed. Spiderman is the best ride at IOA.

Spider-Man doesn’t really move in the way the patented system does.

The Universal ride vehicle isn't supposed to mimic Spider-Man himself. You're in a prototype news vehicle encountering Spider-Man fighting the bad guys. The story is great because the Bugle is evacuated during the siege, Peter Parker is Spider-Man and JJ Jameson is recruiting tourists to do the job.
