I would prefer a new nighttime parade all together. I love the MSEP music but the parade itself is dated. I do not like Specro - at all.

I agree. Granted, I freely admit I don't like parades... They get in your way and are loud. That being said, I liked MSELP better than Spectro. Both are super dated, so honestly I'd rather see a new parade than either one of the old ones come back/stay...

Sort of ... it's just amazing how predictable WDW fans can be. Can you imagine if Disney attempted something like this in Anaheim?

Also, I wonder how many parades TDL has had since 2001 (both regular and special/seasonal) since the snowglobe parade began at MK (itself replacing the 'special' 25th anniversary Remember the Magic Parade, which 'only' ran five looooong years).

I wouldn't read to closely into the rumor. It really didn't tell you anything you didn't already know for months and months now. The "near future" could very well be Spring 2013. If they were going to bring it back this year - it would have been done this summer to anchor a summer promotion. There is no reason to bring it back this year given all that is already going on. Not saying it can't happen - just saying it wouldn't make much sense from the standpoint of those making those decisions..

This is a fair statement.. as I stated.. I have no timeline, but it *IS* happening... if I find out a timeline, I'll post it.. honestly, you'll see audition calls long before it opens, so that'll help give foresight..

I'll check backstage tomorrow and see if Spectro is still tented backstage.. and I'll monitor it and see when it moves

I'll be excited to see Spectro back, but I was certainly hoping for some plussing beyond just a new coat of paint.

I grew up with MSEP. That music and those floats bring back a lot of memories for me. I understand not everyone here enjoys MSEP because they either didn't grow up with it or it just seems outdated, but there's a ton of popularity for that parade still. I've never been a huge fan of Spectro, since it was just copying the formula and updating it. I will enjoy seeing Pete's Dragon and the Casey Jr. Circus train for the last time, once again.

Question is: Will this be it? or will it be packed up and sent elsewhere?

Thanks for this update about Specto. I have missed this parade for awhile and while I do enjoy MSEP I love Spectro. MSEP is fun but Specto is more emotional and magical for me. Even though there is no return date yet at least the rumor of soon is enough for me. I probably won't be lucky enough to be in the park on it's return night but I will be playing my SpectoMagic cd that night at home for sure. This rumor has made me very happy.

I love both parades, don't get me wrong, but I will miss MSEP. I like i because its peppy and fun and bouncy, and spectro is more dramatic and a waltz and seems to have the popular vote...

I was happy to see MSEP this past October, it was a great trip down memory lane. And it is a great parade. That being said, I haven't seen Spectro for many years now either and wouldn't mind seeing it again. And then, frankly, dump both for something new already...

For me. Spectro is all about the music.....It's so great....I get a headach from MSEP...though it has grown on me now that I have seen it 4 times in the past year.

All I want is for Spectromagic to be restored and for none of the units to be cut. I would also like to see the original Spectromen with cartoon faces and for mickey to placed behind the horns again. It would be nice to see the carousel also get the bell sounds back, that was pretty cool.

This has been a long time coming... There were threads on this a year ago that it could be coming back anytime between this summer and next. I think the opening of phases of Fantasyland was always going to be the trigger - it was just a matter of when would be the best time to make the switch back to Spectro.

Does this say something about when to expect the next phases of the FLE to open?

not just that.. but Rasulo's original plan consisted of a new daytime parade in conjunction with the FLE opening.... time will tell if that is still part of the plan

Neither of Davison's projects were parades.

And definitely one isn't happening unless TDO decides to open up the purse strings.
