I believe Adam and crew are planning an American Adventure meet on the Epcot Saturday of Mousefest (which would be 12/8). I'm sure there must be, or will be info on that somewhere on this forum :shrug:

Lost a bit... but does anyone have a *strong* idea that SSE would be able to have soft opening starting Dec 5th?
My first answer - we can threaten kittens and see if they will tell us. :lol:
My real answer - we have absolutely no clue at all.

I'm really excited about the soft-opening. Maybe I will get lucky and get to ride it sooner than our meet! That would be nice - but I am not usually all that lucky with stuff like that. During the EE soft-opening time we missed out...we were there but we still managed to miss the boat. Or train...whatever. :lol:

There is a shirt, buton, bag, mug, mousepad and bumper sticker on there.
They are all customizable so you can add your screen name to any item.
I have a sample shirt and button they did for me with the old 2007 logo and the shirt was really nice and so was the button. I believe there are pictures of both further back in this thread.

Horizons78, you really need to apply at WDW to make the EPCOT merchandise! All of the Party items are so amazing! Why can't WDW come up with designs like this? :veryconfu
This meet is slowly coming together - we have some donated prizes, enough now to cover a few trivia contest prizes, game winner prizes and a door prize or two. All the prizes are EPCOT related and some are vintage items. :sohappy:
**We do need more trivia contest questions. Remember you will be credited on the trivia question card as the creator of the question. I don't want all the cards to have my name on them! :lol: (unless we are going to have a prize for that...
) Please PM me your questions! So many great folks have RSVP'd that they are coming to this meet. I can't wait! :xmas:

Are we gonna wait until we know SSE is open permanently and then choose a Saturday to have a meet? Based on the info coming out, it's going to have previews, but no one is saying it'll stay open, so how do we know when the coast is clear :shrug:
Anyone who gets any information on when it's going to be open permanently please post so we can confirm our date!
All of this calendar hopping is making me tired :snore:

I PM'ed Epcotnut about this very thing earlier. Here's the way I see it: Would we rather be there the first moment we can ride with a smaller group as Im sure not everyone has a schedule that will allow quick changes.....OR....Would we rather set a date knowing that it might not be the first, second, or even 20th day of operation but with a larger group for more fun?
I personally believe in the second of those two options as fitting the concept of this thread. We decided to have a meet - Yes, it is to celebrate the return of Spaceship Earth but seeing as how attraction reopenings are never truly a set date like Celebration 25 was, well, I believe we make the best of it for the good of a larger group and set a date and stick with it. No last minute changes.
There are tradeoffs to either option. I'd just rather have a bigger group of friends so it will be more fun.
But that's just me. What do you guys think?
:sohappy: I don't care if we are there on day 20 of its operation - I just want to party with like-minded folks. I don't really have to be there opening day, and some of us may ride it before our meet - and they can brag about it! :lol: Maybe I'll be one of them! :lookaroun Ya never know!

Yeah I think we have talked about both options and I agree there are benefits to both. The problem with the first option though is that we can't ask the whole group to stake out SSE every Sat until it's open. If it's not open on the 15th then we've drug everyone out for nothing.
If we wait until we have word that it's open permanently then we can choose a day to hold the meet and celebrate the opening together

Yup, I think it'll still be worth it and fun to plan a meet even after it's been open a few days. We have a nice day planned and it's still a reason to celebrate right? I'm wondering what everyone else who has shown interest thinks??

Well, you have 2 'absolutely' maybes from Jain and her Dad regardless of date (we’re lucky it’s barely an hour drive to EPCOT for us) and another 2 'kinda' maybes if I can convince them to take the day off. Of course if it happens to fall on a weekend I don’t se any reason we won’t all be there.
