Space Mountain/Tomorrowland Transit Authority update...

I am just happy it SM will be open for my family and I for our Dec 4th -10th Christmas Trip. I am not going to let a tree and some shrubbery to ruin our experience. I think the planter and new concrete is a nice fresh look to the area. I have a feeling we will see another SM refurbishment coming down the line, possibly after the Fanasty Land remodel.

"First you must find... another shrubbery! Then, when you have found the shrubbery, you must place it here, beside this shrubbery, only slightly higher so you get a two layer effect with a little path running down the middle."

But it was a planter all along:shrug:
We were never told it was a fountain:veryconfu

just saying

Fountain was a guess. I think most of us were hoping for an icon for the iconic attraction at the iconic castle park.

Just compare the entrance to RnRC, The Great Movie Ride, EE, Splash, HM, Star Tours, Mission Space, etc. Space Mountain gets a plaza with a purple bathroom.

Just a sad effort. IMO.

Maybe they're not done with it yet. I guess we'll really have to wait, and see if they only gave the area a half-heated effort. Who knows it may actually be striking when they finish.

While that is the correct attitude to take, and the one I favor....I have to wonder...what more can they do?:lookaroun:lol:

I hoping against hope that the "tree" is a temporary placeholder and when they get the funding something a bit more compelling will appear magically overnight.

I am reminded of the original bob sled sculpture or the acrylic sculpture/fountain that was below SSE. When we lose stuff like that or those type features are ignored something special is lost. They seem to still understand that when designing for the DLR.

And they seem to have understood it for the new FL if the renderings are accurate.

It pains me that they could have used the money on the Stitch stage to enhance SM greatly.

We agree in full for a second time in one day. What is this, jt?:lookaroun:lol:

Something else should have been put there, yes...and the SSC budget should have been added onto SM's. For the exterior, at least....:brick:

That said....It ain't the end of The World. If we get lighting, this is just a trifle.

Oh my god! ITS A PLANTER. The area needed greenery, its there now!

Sheesh...only on WDW Magic.

We know "IT'S A PLANTER". That is the point. It should be so much more. People pay a lot of money to travel to WDW and deserve more than "JUST A PLANTER" that can also be found in any grocery store parking lot.:brick:

Are you serious? It really is no big deal. an average guest may think its been there since the place opened, which by the way was before the other park Universal opened called EPCOT.:lookaroun

Isn't it a bit late to keep marketing Stitch though? That movie cursed us about 6 or 7 years ago. Disney should just get over it. We aren't Tokyo. We don't give a crap about Stitch... -__-"

Goodness, I'm tired of Stitch...

While your probably right, I would like to see the research that supported their decision. It still blows my mind that someone gave the show the green light.
What blows my mind even more is that they gave "A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas" the green light.

That green light hurts. :dazzle:
