Space Mountain Heading to the Scrap Heap :)

Still on target for early July.
The lift/rollback issues should be resolved in a matter of days.

Tiered seating....becoming more common. All Maurer X-Cars are like that (I think), Intamin is using it on it's hypers lately, and I think B&M used it on Diamond back and Behemoth.

Might add for a differentiated experince too. I like. I would like more, if I could ride.:lookaroun:lol:

I just want to say with a big grin I`ll be riding RR&R in September. And Manta. And I can`t wait.

And... sticking to the "I hope the refurb finishes on time" instead of "I hope the refurb is dragged out to make it as good as the budget allows it to be" I`ll be on Space Mountain a week after it reopens. Funny how things turn out isn`t it? :D

Yes, the tech for RR&R is amazing. So many innovative (and Disney derived but not followed up) goodies. I wonder how much the ride DVD will be.....

Now, back to the thread. Who`s the nominated photographer for the scaffholding photos?

Manta.....was awesome. Best coaster in Orlando...as of now.
(Another highlight: $74 got me into Sea World one day, and unlimited entry until Dec. 31. That guarantees me MANY more flights on the great Manta.)

Not me. I don't have a 200 mile zoom lens.

First hand account! That must be nice...
*knocks on wood for soft openings in late June*

He needs to be dragged on several key rides to get over "the fear".

I see the same fear in your :lookaroun that would take the heart of me!

THERE may come a day, when the courage of man fails...but it IS NOT THIS DAY.

:lookaroun:lol:

You'll find it odd that I NEVER had any fear for SM, SplM and BTTMR when I was little, and still don't.

Same for TT and MS...I WANT to ride. Luck and claustrophobia just keeps getting in the way.

(our) Space Mountain is like a THOUSAND times scarier than RNR.
 :brick:

As for Space claustrophobia, you only get it ONCE. The first time I was freaking out at how tiny it was, now I think it's huge-and don't get why I freaked out about the size in the first place.

Why? I haven't been on in an age, I don't remember the sensation. Is it that I'm going to fly out of my seat feeling?:lookaroun

Heh. Well...Maybe I already got it out of the way when they began to close the hatch, and I bolted. :lookaroun

Our Space Mountain (pre-refurb) is ROUGH. Really sharp turns, big drops. It slams you one way, then another way. Of all the Coaster's I've been on, our Space Mountain is by far the scariest. See other coasters may look scarier, but their designs are far less scary, because they have smooth, precise, drops turns & inversions, designed for precision.

As for Mission Space, you have to remember they're not "Sealing you in". The only reason the thing is lowering is so you can press buttons-which is a ton of fun. MS is just like centrifuge training, it only feels funky the first time. Go on it more and it becomes a cake walk.

(And Air Time is a hoot- It's nothing. You're the all edumacated one, you should know that physics will NEVER let you fly into the air and out of the car. Same for Inversions. Math is always going to make sure you return to the station... )

I dont have a 200 mile zoom, but I can loan a 70-270mm lens or a 300mm lens for super close ups. :D

That of course is if you want to read what the workers are reading on said scaffolding.

Ah...I understand. Well, hopefully MS will finally be completed this Summer. I am getting sick of the Preshows and Post Show.:lookaroun

SM-I remember that it is rough. Maybe after the refurb it will be different...:D

According to Ricky Brigante on the Inside the Magic podcast, they filed for a AV package for an interactive queue in Space Mountain, probably going to be similar to Soarin'.
