I rarely post on here but this whole waving thing is very annoying and childish.

Perhaps smilies could be disabled on this forum for a day? Or a week? Or a month?

I hate smilies. I try not to use them except for the occasional standard smiling face, but every once in a while I'll slip and use one of the other ones. Between this thread with all the inane waving and certain posters using the head-into-wall and hammer-to-the-head smiles everytime they say something sarcastic or supposedly witty I'm getting nauseous.
