They have had themed construction walls since as far back as I can remember.

I agree to some extent, Mission Space is the one that comes to mind, but not quite as elobarate as of late.

If you are talking about the tarps, they don't go far back.. They are newer.. Not sure how many years ago they started using these designed tarps, but, it wasn't too too long ago... As for the walls, the walls always fit the theme of the land, but from what I recall, weren't themed...

The tarps are, but I haven't seen one for a new attraction. I've only seen those painted to look like the original attraction behind it. It would be interested to see a new attraction being built on empty space, will it be a painting of Pooh's Playground? The new attraction concept art?

Agrees... :o:cry:

The concept art would be awesome.. But, could be a major let down.. I mean, would you really want to see what the ride SHOULD look like as compared to what it would REALLY look like? LOL

Technology isn't ready?? If it wasn't ready they how come DL has on board audio for SM already??? How do other coasters have on board audio.. INCLUDING ROCK N ROLLER COASTER???

it's ready... TDO is just cheap... Learn to accept that they are skimping out, and will continue to skimp out... Your defense of them is really foolish and silly now...

Disneyland SM has had on board audio since the 90's.By 98' or 99' it stopped working and only 2 cars had sound. The problem wasn't fixed until 2003

How often does the audio stop working on RNRC? I never rode it with no audio working... And if the technology was bad in 1999, 10 years has passed to FIX it.. If they haven't fixed it in 10 years, shame on them... The technology is there... They are too cheap to install it...

3x, it was alright. but the thrill factor puts horizons to shame (imo). horizons just just another boring nemo and friends style ride, name another ride like MS in wdw....

In WDW, how many other attractions do you watch a movie??? In your local Six Flags and carnivals, I am sure many can be named that are like MS without a bad movie being played... MS really is not that good of an attraction.. I don't see why people think it is better than Horizons.. And Horizons being Nemo and friends?? What are you smoking??? Got to be some pretty heavy stuff to compare the two rides... Nothing even close... WOW...

It was sad that they were to lazy to re install the audio.DL SM wasn't as good without the audio.Only rockets 2 and 7 had audio! (that's what my dad told me)

It's just a shame!

Star Tours. Only difference is more G-Force.

Now name another ride as big in scope as Horizons...not even Spaceship Earth is as complicated, advanced, or as grand as Horizons was, not to mention the rest of the rides at WDW. And that's from a fan of all the new Thrill Rides.
:(

While I know that you are definitely not nostalgic how can you compare a cheap carnival thrill ride to something as unique as Horizons. Mission Space is okay but definitely doesn't deserve to belong in Epcot.

And what about the room that had the huge screen that made you feel like you were really flying, (Soaring comes to mind).. Horizons was a great attraction... I still don't get the huge thrill factor of MS.. You sit in a small enclosed case.. You watch a badly acted movie/badly drawn animaton of Mars... You "push" buttons that helps you with your mission.. Ok it really doesn't... Then you leave... You don't come back to earth, nothing... It bored me to tears when I first went on, and now, I refuse to ever ride it again..

But this is the attitude of "Disney Fans" lately.. Take a carnival ride, toss in a CGI movie and WHAAA LAAA we have a wonderfully themed Disney standard attraction.. WHY??? Cause Disney made it... No matter how bad or mediocre it is...

At least they don't think the same way for Stitch's Great Escape or Sounds Dangerous. The only cheap carnival thrill ride that is okay at the parks (due to location) is Primieval Whirl.

They might think that about SGE... :lookaroun

But... Primeval Whirl... Is is immersive.. it is well themed.. it is... DISNEY!!!

Ok, I enjoy Primeval Whirl.. I gotta admit... I enjoy it more than MS...

Let me clear, I like Mission Space. I really do. It's fun and sleek, and has an awesome ride system.

The problem for me is simply what it replaced was a thousand times better...
