Yeah...sad.
Actually, not only does it have audio, mist and fire....but so do the two newly refurbished Bizzaro coasters at other Six Flags parks.

And they are redoing a whole area at DCA and we are getting a refurbed SM. Quit whining. No one is making you love Disney. Go ride some terminators if you wish.

It's always a high point of my day when teenagers tell me to stop whining.
Anyhow, nobody's whining, just pointing out the location of the bar that is being set for coasters at Six Flags in the hopes that Disney will not only meet it but surpass it. That's as it should be.

Is it just me that sees some danger on a wood coaster with fire, sure they'll do it properly but even so...
And also for a woodie that's a lot, come on disney... Make this refurb work, don't chicken out just to get it open early.
Where else do/did we have mist again... oh yeah/... :brick:

1) For all those "I hope Disney does this...I hope Disney does that" folks out there...guess what...you are whining...ALOT! I just rode Space in October and completely enjoyed myself.
2) Im sorry...I just don't care how it looks with the lights on. Why? ITS INTENDED TO BE RIDDEN WITH THE LIGHTS OFF. No I dont care about a few stray items or mold. I am a man...not a delicate little sissy. EEEwwww mold...I might cough. Or eeeewwww rust...I might chip my freshly painted nails. CMON.

1. You are whining about the whiners. Regardless, people who are fans of Disney seem to want to hold Disney to a higher standard. A standard that Disney holds themselves to. Lately, the standard has been to produce crap because people will still come. Now, it seems that Six Flags has caught on to what gets people's attention and will soon pass Disney in imagination.
2. Yes, Space Mountain is meant to be in the dark, so I cannot disagree here. I really don't care about chipped paint on the beams when they aren't meant to be seen anyway.
3. The ride is 30 years old. After the pounding it has taken for 30 years, you be the judge as to how sound the structure still is. I am sure this is A concern and will be addressed, but won't be with a new support structure.
4. Congratulations, you called someone on the internet a jerk. You showed your true intellect. Way to go.

rust? whats a little rust.... im sure you are man enough that when you are riding and tat section of track gives way... as your vehicle goes crashing to the ground you will be fine as the vehicle rotates over on its way down... landing on the top of the car, several tons of vehicle and rider weight pressing down on your skull. crushing it, as the shock pushes through your spinal column cracking it in several places, crushing it in others, as your ribcage shatters and organs ar punctured and or obliterated by bone and air.

If we are to assume that this current refurb is going to be as lackluster as some have opined during this thread. Because lets face it...most of you are assuming what the refurb will entail (you may end up being right but...) Then its just as easy for me to assume that it has nothing to do with the structure killing me (it is a ridiculous assertion by the way) when I ride it. So please ditch the death-trap rhetoric...I am not buying it.

Rarely ever do I say anything that could be even slightly taken as "ragging".
Any and all criticism I direct at them is purely a by-product of my intense love for the company, and refusal to not hold them to the high standards that they themselves set. Seriously, you would be hard pressed to find a bigger fan than me.
Do I rag on this refurb? Yep. Because I know pretty much what it will be, and also what it was going to be. Sorry if my disappointment is difficult to hide.

Also, I've ridden alot of coasters...compared to alot of 'em Space Mountain is like ridding down a silk hill on a stick of butter. So again if Space Mountain is too rough for you maybe the problem isn't the ride...maybe its...you. :kiss:

Other than the fact that some of the members are probably going to bludgeon you to death you make some very good points. Who cares if Sm's structure looks like ____*t. The ride takes place entirely in the dark. As for the jerkiness, the only people I hear mention this are those who have back problems or some form of the sort.
