I'm sure that WDI has spent millions of dollars to make these kinds of "asteroids" move past the rockets for the WDW refurb.

Well, the SM Homepage at Ultimate Orlando has a list of copycats but I don't agree with most of his choices.

Alright you got me. Everyone wanted to see pics of the new SM? Here it is:

New Lift Hill Scene:

Redone Interior:

We even get new effects - Asteroids!

 Don't be too harsh on WDW's SM. Compared to these pics ours is state-of-the-art!

If you wanna see the rest of the pics, you can find it at RCDB:

I don't see a difference.:lookaroun

Aside form the first picture thats exactly what i was thinking.
I mean what do you expect...its a machine not an operating room.
:brick:

Are you kidding me?? Did you completly miss (ignore) Lee's pics of Disneyland's Space Mountain? That is what we EXPECT from Disney not this ____*t they try to pass off on us.

Ok...I'll grant you it isn't THAT bad....
But...it's also not THIS good:

That's how a Disney coaster should look with the lights on.:D

You have some even nicer pics that show how clean and modern the whole struture are I would love to see what those folks say about those.

BTW, I never noticed how big scale Disneyland's SM is. The building is small but that pic makes it look bigger than Disney World's version.

Can someone please go into SM after hours and like, I don't know, gently push a support beam or something, causing the whole thing to fall apart and justify a full rebuild? I think I saw a worker going in there with a tube of Mighty Putty yesterday, so we have to act fast.

what's with the blue triangles?

Oh... you haven't been on SSE recently have you? or, more to the point, you haven't been keeping up on the All Epcot, All the Time thread!

There's been a continuous watch in recent months over the number of blue triangles that now line the decent of SSE. Continuous enough to create a thread that is now over 300 pages long.

Do a search for the Alton Towers ride The Black Hole. Closed now, but a typically British cheap-as-chips rip off. They even made it Victorian retro-future when DLPs version opened.

And then look for Blackpools Space Invader.
WOW. I have seen Black Hole on a trip report before and had forgotten about it. I guess when you think about it, there are a few more then i recall seeing. Interesting.
