Space Mountain Heading to the Scrap Heap :)

yea but hey at least Universal is getting Harry Potter and DCA is getting rebuilt so there will be plenty of good theme park experinces to come even if they aren't at WDW.

Oh, I agree. Wizarding World is probably the most excited I've been for a new attraction...ever.

Yeah, DCS is getting a bunch of character themed attractions that have nothing to do with the California theme...

I disagree entirely. Mermaid is the only one that is a stretch IMO. Paradise Pier could use characters, and Carsland is themed to Route 66 which was sort of the old "mother road" to California.

Still has me worried, though. Haunted Mansion was almost 20 mil.

I don't understand where the $20M was spent. All it needed was cleaning, lighting, lubing, and TLC with a few scene changes and improvements. It is still pretty much the same ride.

Again, you said, "I was told." that doesn't sound pretty reliable to me.

20 mil for the Mansion isn't far off.
Lots of audio upgrades, new Leota and bride, etc.
Plus the stuff the guests don't see. Structural stuff.

The threads from back then are some of the best I've read. So much optimism and discussion of fun rumors. Total 180 of today unfortunately.

A moment of silence for Bald Mountain replacing the lagoon...

I remember my lurker days when Everest was announced. Oh boy was that fun...

It's sad to think there's really been nothing on that level to get excited about since then. Just Stitch, triangles, and some screens.

I remember my "lurker days" of the Test Track opening. :lookaroun
I'm feeling old again.

Should be passing by SM a few times tomorrow while I'm out and about.. I'll update the thread again tomorrrow
:sohappy:

Were the controls (DACS) moved into the Haunted Mansion show building during this refurb as well, or was that done at a different time?

Okay, I was told by someone who worked directly on the project.

Better?
