Because this one has show?
Depending on the circumstances, exemptions are allowed even after renovations. An accessible ramp at 1:12 would require far more space that would likely make compliance deemed to be unreasonably burdensome. Are they even allowed to replace it fully? Would a full replacement nullify the ADA exemption?
My home airport has "lanes" on the moving walkways, one for standing and one for walking.I always get tempted to start talking loudly saying "it's called a moving WALKWAY, not a conveyor belt." You are supposed to walk and the purpose of it is to allow you to walk faster without doing more than normal walking.
I don't know why people want to just stand on them. At the airport or wherever, most of the time I stay off the moving walkway because it is so insanely frustrating to have to stand there while it crawls along. A normal paced walk will get you to the end faster than standing on it.
Unfortunately, space mountain has no option to bypass and walk on a regular walkway.
Obviously there is.No reason to view the SM post show slower than HM..
I saw this a few weeks ago and saw some workers hanging around it, and for some strange reason, I thought that it might of been a walkway to the tron coaster site. But then I actually saw them working on it.
The asphalt hadn’t been poured between the track yet.

There are two pathways. The one on the right, which is grey, is a pathway that’s been there for years. It’s used by CMs who work in Space Mountain. The one on the left, which is reddish brown, is a temporary exit for SM while the main one is having work done. The rails that you see are the mainline for the WDWRR. This area is known as Tomorrowland Crossing. This pathway was formerly the cast member entrance/exit from the attraction. It was in no state for guests to traverse and likely required replacing to allow day guests to utilize it.
Given the area was never designed for public access or ADA compliance it has to be up to code.I must say... the temporary ramp they built on the outside is pretty dang involved. This doesn't look like something intended for just a week or two... integrated lighting, lots of wood work, metal structure. I was pretty shocked by how built out it really was for something to just bypass construction.

Where there’s blame there’s a claim.
Gotcha. It does seem to be long. There again so is the speed ramp if that’s having a full replacement.Yeah, my point was about longevity tho. I mean, if it were just for a short period of time... I'd imagine they'd close the ride before going to this extent of effort. But if you need it for a longer duration... it makes more sense to invest so the ride can stay open.
This doesn't seem to be some 'week of work' thing...

You can still see the postshow scenes from the PM so the work appears limited to the speed ramp at this point at least. They wouldn’t really need to bypass the speed ramp to change the postshow anyway. When we walked the ramp last week I said the same things... Could not believe how much that cost for a temp ramp. But it makes sense if they are really redoing the exit of space which it needs as it is outdated and boring.... Hopefully we get a plus and then hopefully we get a better stand by line as it is horrible!
People do realize that Disney has designed rides before Everest, right? You don't design anything, ANYTHING, that moves like the Yeti without the ability to remove it when it breaks. Things that move, like Animatronics, don't last as long as things that don't, like walls. They know that and planned accordingly. Two totally different situations. Everest would need to be practically scrapped and rebuilt from scratch to fix the Yeti. It would be closed for years and effectively be rebuilding the ENTIRE roller coaster. With Space Mountain, I don't know what they would do. I just think it'll have a lengthy refurbishment when Tron opens.
