Space Mountain Complete with Green Screen Effect

I didn't even notice a difference. No lie. I didn't realize until I rode it after the change that I basically paid 0 attention to the voice over when I rode it.

To say the ride is ruined is a super overreaction, IMO.

IMO, while saying it's "ruined" would be a bit harsh, I would say that it's not very enjoyable. The attraction itself is amazing, but the super crappy narration just makes not want to ride it.

For me, TTA is still the same exact ride. It's for relaxing and seeing the sights, which it still does perfectly. It's a ride to sit down, talk, and figure out the next plan of attack.

The only bad part is the absolute silence in Space Mountain.

Well, for someone who DOES listen, yeah, it's pretty much dead. Where there was once back story, detail, and humor, there is nothing. Bland descriptions, cartoon cut ins, and random glimpses of rides.

Last month I went on WDW's Space Mountain, and one of the starfield projectors wasn't working. It was a better ride because it was that much darker.

I don't know how much more it would have cost to add onboard audio to Magic Kingdom's Space Mountain. I don't know how much it would have cost to put the Disneyland reflectors into the re-entry tunnel, but if both things were added, it would certainly be a better ride than Disneyland's. Instead it's a better ride, but not as good as it could have been - that's what's most frustrating.

The backstory was dead as a doornail though!

The city of Tomorrow is no more. I'd rather have what's there now than the dead storyline of Tomorrowland '94.

The deal is they screwed up the most interesting part of the TTA.
I seriously can't imagine the meeting where they decided that there is no need to be able to see anything inside SM from TTA. How could they think that's a good idea?
Refurb fail.

Yeah, I don't understand why they didn't enclose at least part of the TTA along with the queue.

It is, now. That was the last cohesive bit.

And project things onto the surface.

Like the speed tunnel in DL's Peoplemover.

Although I was very disappointed in the spiel change on TTA, I understand that things have to change....they had their reasons and they took steps to change the theme in Tomorrowland. I don't agree with it but I can respect it.

Now...leaving the Star Tunnel music out of TTA is beyond incomprehensible.

1) There are still working speakers on TTA inside of Space Mountain.
2) Star Tunnel still plays inside of Space Mountain.

Then why in the world would you not leave it playing on TTA?

I could understand if they had also taken it out of SM in favor of new music or something...but this just doesn't make any sense.

For a company that always talks about "plussing" I'm seeing more and more unexplainable "minussing" going on

It wouldn't surprise me if Imagineering had no idea it was dead silent in there and it's just gone unnoticed...at least I hope that's what happened.

The whole SM post show audio system is a quick `make do` fix. Much like the post show visuals - something that was way down the list and only an area to be dressed up if there was any money left in the meagre pot.

The TTA has one audio feed, the speedramp has 3, and each showscene has its own feed, installed for 1985 when each scene had narration. Something also used in 1994. Now only 2 out of 3 speedramp zones are used, the show scenes are unused, and the TTA seems to have been forgotten about, literally.

Bad show.

There was a Notice of Commencement filed on Monday the 8th for a Space Mountain "Post Show Railing Package." So apparently they're still tweaking things a bit.
