Sony & MARVEL are friends again; Spider-Man is back in the MCU

This article has a lot, including a lot of hurt feelings that may not make a deal possible, but Disney asking for 25% seems reasonable.

Does no one else find it weird the numbers keep changing in each new article? It seems clear that Sony and Disney are negotiating in the public via the press.

That new deal seems like fan fiction with all the tie-ins with the other properties. Not saying it can’t be true. I hope it is. But wow that would be amazing for the fans. IMHO of course.

Well the fact that it appears RDJ and TH confirming it without really confirming it seems to give credence to it being real.

If this is the real deal, then its everything that Disney wanted.

I see it as the start of Disney eventually taking back the rights from Sony (or whomever eventually buys them).

Why would you not believe the Sony Spiderverse would be joining the MCU? That was basically what Pascal was hinting at about 2 years ago.

Because she doesn't run Sony. She might want that. The team in charge at Sony may not. I feel like there's a LOT of details here for movies that will be YEARS down the road. Spider-Man 3 isn't even on the schedule as of yet, but they've already figured out the story details for movies 4-6?

Just hard for me to swallow.

You do know that Feige plans the MCU 5-10 years ahead of time right? So how is it hard to swallow that he has had ideas for the future of Spidey (and friends) for movies 4-6. It is one of his favorite characters after all. I'm sure he started planning this all out starting in 2015 once they first made the original deal.

We will see. I could be wrong. I'm just not holding my breath for everything that the report outlined.

Trust me, I'm not saying everything will be as written in that article. But it would fall right in line with what I believe Feige would have been setting up for Spidey.

So yeah we'll see. I wouldn't even be surprised if they don't mention much of it at the panel tomorrow even if the deal is done.

The other thing to consider is the source. This isn't Deadline. It's Cosmic Book News, reporting off a YouTube channel and that video has less than 6200 views.

Just finding it hard to believe that's who is breaking this story.

Its a fluid story, so I expect if its true to come to main stream sites soon.

I got the article from another thread in the Disneyland forum.

Well, I definitely hope it’s real. It seems too good to be true to be honest but it could happen. Fingers crossed!

If they announce a new deal at this movie panel I’ll flip.
And given all the questions and confusion fans have been left hanging with over this past week, they'd better not simply announce that all is resolved, but rather give the audience an epic dramatic reveal. I'm talking having the entire Avengers cast come out on stage and group-hug Tom Holland while the Peaches & Herb song 'Reunited' blasts over the speakers.

They don’t sound too optimistic, but maybe that’s how Feige and Holland have to play it for now.

During the Pixar section of the studios panel Holland came out for Onward, and addressed the crowd at the end:

Tom Holland, 100%, is out of the loop on these discussions.
