Currently, one side (the left side, as you approach in the queue) is not working. Guests returning with a FastPass are being asked to return through the exit. Most importantly, because only half of the attraction is working, all of the FastPasses are distributed quite early in the day. For example, on March 11, at 11 a.m., I was given a FastPass return time of 5:30 p.m."[/FONT]

I was in Epcot from 3/8-3/11 and Soarin was undergoing "rehab" and the fast pass entrance was redirected. I am returning to Disney tomorrow 3/21 through 3/26 and assume it will be the same way. I have two questions:

1. Why have they redirected the fastpass line at all? The fastpass line emptied to the queue area where the lines split for the two theaters. Guests could still use the fastpass line and be directed to the theater which is operational.

2. Is it a true "rehab" or are they possibly testing a new movie, new effect, etc.? Is it possible they are filming in there for a commercial, movie or tv spot?

Any news, etc.?

I'm not sure the part about one whole theater being under refurbishment is true. There was discussion last week about FastPass Return going in through the exit queue. At that time it was revealed that there was floor replacement going on in the queue and pre-show areas for one of the theaters. So while the theater itself was still in use, they couldn't route Guests through the queue normally. So one theater was boing used for FastPass (entering through the exit), and the other was being used traditionally for Standby.

If one whole theater was out of commission, they wouldn't route anyone through the exit, but rather just merge FastPass and Standby as normal but only route them to the one operating theater.

One whole theater is down. I used fastpass on my last trip two weeks ago. We were routed in through the exit to one theater. They filled the farthest right glider section, (closest section), to exit with fastpass guests. Standby guests filled the left and middle sections. All standby guests, according to what they were saying were being routed to one theater. The other was closed off.

And, Yes. There was no pre-show for fast pass guests.

Wow! That sure is soon for it to undergo a rehab! It hasn't been open that long, has it? Hopefully, it will be a new film. That would be so cool!

A new film would just be swapped out overnight. They may be repairing screens and doing maintenance on the lift mechanism. Or changing the restraint system, I know I always had trouble latching it.

the deal is they are replacing the carpet in the queue for fastpass. They replyed by saying that the carpet is peeling off and it needs to be replaced!

They've been doing this at least since the beginning of March, when I was last down there. They were directing Fast Pass people through the exit, with paths very crudely drawn out in masking tape, with arrows pointing out which way to go.

There also was no pre-show for the Fast Pass line, which sort of annoyed me.

I've ridden soarin probably 50 times. I don't remember carpet in the fast pass queue. It's concrete and then some kind of rubber flooring or spray on rubber/paint.

When they change the flooring to an attraction, they usually do it overnight or in a day or two. I don't think it would take a month.

I would like to see them enlarge the screen in the corners. Depending on where you sit, you can see the edges of the screen, even though you look straight ahead, due to your periphial vision. It detracts from the whole experience. Enlarging it would certainly enhance the experience for everyone no matter where you were sitting.

They are replacing some of the flooring in the queue. It's been curling at some of the edges at some points within the first month the attraction opened. They are simply replacing the flooring of the queues with a more durable flooring.

You'll have to wait a little longer for "Soarin Over the World"...haha

A new film, PLUS movement effects, PLUS scent/smell effects, PLUS wind effects, PLUS, new additional water/fog effects would NEVER be swapped out OVERNIGHT. It takes a bunch of time to get everything WDI perfect if this is in fact what they are doing... overnight???... what a naive idea.

Please, Please tell me it will be up and running by the time we get there by the 10th of April. That is one thing that we always do when we get there. Oh, by the way 21 days till we get there........... it's taking too long to get here.

lol... my thoughts exactly..

It just better be working perfecto when I come in September or I am going to be one angry mouseketter. That's close to my favorite ride now. I find myself in so much peace on Soarin'!
