I usually carry a backpack when I am in the parks. '

Thanks!!

(editted to fix silly typo of care to carry.)

Cindy,
The ride is a unique setup from any other system. There is a fairly large net storage area, but you can just leave your stuff on the floor, 'cause after liftoff and the ride, you "touch down" at the exact same spot you left. The seats are a long bench that hold 15-20 with only a lap belt. The ride has no bumps or jerks like Star Tours, so it is comfortable and relaxing...but exciting at the same time.

They have now officially announced (at the 5/5 press event) that it will open with the California film. Either the source inside the company was completely mistaken, got bad info from somebody at Imagineering, or got confused when told about a film being done to be swapped into the attraction in 2007 for the 25th birthday of Epcot. I haven't gotten more info relayed from the original source yet, so I don't really know.

Anyone know anymore?

Hey, I try to make sure that my sources are reliable, and this source was very reliable. They also happened to be incorrect this time. When I write something that turns out to be wrong, I admit it.

I didn't like the California in Florida idea at first, but with the whole concept of attractions from each resort 'visiting' WDW, it makes more sense, and I'm more receptive to it. I would hope that several years down the road, though, it would change a bit (I don't know how much changing the video would cost, though) to a Florida or USA theme. Looks like maybe that'll happen, if it's only slated through '07.

The Land

Personally if they do make a new film i wouldnt really want to see Soarin over Florida or America, but a Soarin over the Land would be cool. Flying over different lands around the world would not only fit The Land theme but also would tie World ShowCase into it aswell

Although the costs involved in filming a new movie around the world would probably be extremely high.

Lee, you knew this well before May 7th. :D

Sure did.

But, Mike and Mark have some swell connections (giving props to Mouseplanet there)...things could change and I not hear about it right off.
