It's not just the Taj -- there's other bad and easily noticeable CGI in World too.
The Taj takes the cake. It looks like something out of a PS2 video game circa 2001. I don't know how they couldn't render it better than that and, if they couldn't, why even include it?

The other CGI at least doesn't slap you in the face to notice it because it is laughably bad!

The elephant is on that level for me too; it's super noticeable.

Let's see: Elephant, Orca, Kite, Hawk, Water plane. These were the worst. You could spot them in the background the moment you went to the new scene then follow them as they swooshed over you or whatever to the next scene.

If the Taj wasn't there the elephant would stand out more. I agree that it is pretty bad as well but at least PS3 quality!
Please. I saw better graphics on my Super Nintendo.

Notice the nice, STRAIGHT road in addition to the impressive graphics?

I specifically said the California version is better. My point is that they need to fix the world version so that it's also good, or better yet, create a new version that's as good or better than the California one. The California one shouldn't be permanently installed because it's not a good fit for EPCOT, but it's a great stopgap for Soarin' while they actually create a worthy world film (even though they probably won't)
I don't understand why you are so hung up on the California Version. It proved for over a decade people weren't upset about an all California landscape instead of 'the world'. Nothing about future world insisted things had to be about the entire world vs some specific.

Most guests didn't even know it was all california landscapes.

I do wonder how much of World’s shortcomings are the way the warping becomes obvious with the Taj Mahaj and Eiffel Tower scenes, and if switching those out could eliminate some of this problems
Still is inferior... those are just the most visible warts that no one can unsee.

The original is an emotional moving masterpiece. Over the World comes off as a cheap knock off.

I made one post that the World version makes more sense for EPCOT; not sure how that equates to being hung up on it (every other comment was in response to someone quoting me). I don't see how that's even up for discussion, quality aside.

The problem with the World version (in addition to the quality) is that in the Land pavilion it should really be all about natural landforms instead of a mix between natural and manmade (California has this problem too re: the Land pavilion, although it's better than the existing World film about this).

There's no reason it needs to be the same film everywhere; they should be able to have multiple versions that all have the same overall quality. Tokyo desperately needs a different film that's not California or World to fit their version.

Until Soarin around the world came around, I didn’t actually know the attraction at Epcot was Soarin over California. And imagine a lot of other people felt the same, that Soarin was just a great attraction and not a great Californian attraction.
Because it was appropriate for The Land pavilion. Many different landscapes in CA. If it weren't for the Golden Gate Bridge at the beginning, Yosemite, and DL at the end, it wasn't immediately obvious it was CA unless you knew the landmarks.

Exactly. Except for GGB, Yosemite, and DL, you wouldn't know. Besides, it fits with The Land.

There used to be loud ovations for the original version even when it had been there for years. On the rare occasions I bother riding World, there are maybe a few light claps. After riding the original I felt like I had an experience. After riding World I feel like my time would have been better spent eating at the food court.
