I don’t think anyone here has called the California version bad, unless you’re referring to something I missed.

For some reason people decided upthread that I was saying the World version was better than the California version simply because I think the general idea of a World version makes more sense for EPCOT, despite me specifically saying that the existing California version of the film is better than the existing World version.

Also, SatW regularly had 60 minute waits, so I'm not sure 45 minutes is something to crow about (I'm sure California will get 60+ minute waits too).

It’s been called the inferior version, doesn’t belong at Epcot, etc. but I just find it ironic because what I said would happen happened… long lines for the version (IMHO) is the far better version.

It was clear to me what you were saying, for what it’s worth.

For everyone who thought the Cali version was SO bad…this afternoon, the average wait times were 45 minutes…when is the last time SatW was that busy??
Patrick was getting laryngitis from his pre show spiel…
In fairness, it's also "new" to many who have never seen it so naturally the queue would have longer wait times.

It’s been said several times that it’s inferior, it’s outdated, it doesn’t belong at Epcot. I disagree, I presented my argument pro Cali and I was just pointing out that the “classic” version had a 75 minute wait and the SAtW hasn’t had those waits in a long time…

I don't think anyone ever said it was either inferior or outdated.

Also, SatW received 60 minute waits pretty regularly. California is definitely better, but it's also getting a bump for being "new" -- it'll probably settle in to roughly similar waits as SatW despite the quality difference.

We must be reading different threads, because I'm one of only about two people here who have stated they prefer World to California. (And despite that preference, I don't consider Cali a bad film at all.)

Also, you're wrong about SatW wait times -- it regularly had 60+ minute waits. Even though the California version is definitely better, it seems likely that the wait times for the two will be roughly the same.
I saw it yesterday at 75…my wife saw it at 75…she told me because it was so out of the ordinary. If we’re going to argue about 15 minutes, you win…and YES, by some of the park scenes, it’s been said that parts are outdated. Because it’s not as clear as the SAtW, it’s inferior to the California version. It’s also been said that it doesn’t belong at Epcot…we can run around in circles all day…

Again, it may be "old" to us but it's "new" to many others. The fact that it is a different movie from the prior SATW is the reason for higher wait times.

Not sure I agree since I have no idea who that is. Everyone recognizes Patrick. Is that the voice you hear in the pre show about making your designs?
He was the original host on Test Track..

He's been in a several films including Pitch Perfect, He was the antagonist in Planes Fire and rescue. he also had voiced Mentok The Mindtaker in Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law.

Here's more light reading to catch up..
