We'll see how this round plays out. You're right, I don't think the first three rounds of the season were a failure at all, it just freaks me out that we went from 10 people to 6 people to only two people. Again I get that it's part of the format, but that drop-off was simply way more extreme than I was ever anticipating and I still don't know how to distribute points to Pi and Ace for this past round. If this next prompt only gets a couple of submissions as well then I think it's time we all collectively hit the panic button on the season and start to brainstorm together on ways to salvage it because I simply don't think we can stretch it out to get a satisfying winner if things don't improve activity wise. There has to be a solid middle ground between everyone submitting projects and only two people submitting.
I can't speak for Ace, I'd be fine just scoring normally. Or just giving us a couple of points.

If need be, the elite eight could become the supreme six or fearsome four or whatever. The format can stay the same, just adjusted based on activity in the next round or two.

Like Pi, I’m fine with the same scoring. I’m just here for fun! Nothing serious!!

I also think cutting down the finals a few people could work. The first step though is to see how many submit here and go from there.

Yea, I'm very much thinking about cutting down to six people in the finals which would lead to three one on one matches followed by a final three to crown the winner. This might be for the best as there's people in the standings who I have no idea even have the time to do projects or not going forward. Of course this round is sort of the Rorschach test for activity this season moving forward since it's such a simple and accessible prompt. Who knows, we could get like 12 projects submitted this round in which case I'll just proceed as normal.

Innovators - Force Experience at Star Wars Galaxy's Edge
516

In 2019 both Disneyland and Walt Disney World will open Star Wars Galaxy's Edge - an incredibly immersive and interactive storytelling environment set in the Star Wars Universe on the new planet of Batuu. On the planet, guests will be first-hand characters in an on-going storyline throughout the attractions, shops, restaurants, and walkable areas - where walk-around characters are intended to interactive with you in a variety of ways based on your experiences throughout and what you accomplish on the attractions.

The complete RPG style environment lends well to an interactive augmented reality experience, and with all the special 'mystical' powers in Star Wars, very similar to Harry Potter in that respect, Galaxy's Edge will be a breeding ground for these 'attractions' such as the Force Experience.

The experience will begin when you and your fellow friends and family are approached by a Bounty Hunter and asked to speak with a member of a rogue Jedi faction in the outer rim, who will train you in the arts of the Jedi ways inspired by the heroic feats of Rey and Luke.

As you and your friends/family are whisked away, you enter into a mossy cave like setting deep within the mountains of Batuu...where a group of Jedi and Resistance leaders from Star Wars Episode IX - take you to learn about the force. Using a smartphone, you can feel the force around you as you close your eyes and feel your phone vibrating in your hand - which trickles down your hand and towards your body.

As you point the phone towards an interactive rock wall - the rocks (digitally connected with your phone similar to the wand connection in Harry Potter) move around as if you are using the force to move them. After all, the force is just moving rocks right?

As this experience continues - you hear ominous music in the background as Kylo Ren's theme begins to play - this experience doubles as a Kylo Ren interactive meet and greet as he ignites his lightsaber and everyone around you looks panicked. The rogue Jedi tell you to ignite your weapon...and like Finn, you claim you need a weapon, and they reply...you have one!
tumblr_inline_oc6hhbg7mg1s4ubd6_540.gif

Your phone lights up as a lightsaber and you and your friends twist and turn as the lightsaber clashing sounds echo through the cave. Kylo Ren then retreats into the dark cave beyond. As you leave you tap your magic band where PhotoPass+ photographers give you pictures of you and your friends battling Kylo Ren...in the photos, lightsabers are digitally inserted similar to what they do with other PhotoPass+ options where they insert characters and props into the photos.

Your phone in the photos will look like the bottom grip of the lightsaber as you twirl around battling Kylo Ren.

As you were contemplating the panic button due to lack of activity I was able to submit a project for this round;)

I think you need to take a deep breath and relax. You're taking people not submitting as a personal insult when in reality it was just a tough round on many levels. Keep moving forward.

And on that note yea I agree let's put this issue to rest and focus on the next prompt.

Purists: Your task is simple...come up with yet another diversion in the style of the Emporium windows that's not as in depth as an attraction but has a little more to offer than just being another detail in a sea of details. This can be for ANY Disney park.
Just to clarify on this, would this be along the lines of the walkthroughs in Disneyland Paris or something smaller?

MJOLNIR
"Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be Purist, shall possess the power of Thor."
thor-hammer-dp.jpg

THE SETTING: Asgard City, Oklahoma, a rebuilt refuge for the Asgardian people in the peace following Infinity War. Thor bursts in on his adopted brother Loki, who busies himself practicing transformations.

"Loki, you treacherous snake, this is your doing! What hast thou done with it? It's been nary a year since Mjolnir was reforged in the battle 'gainst Thanos, and already it goes missing!"

"Look not at me, brother, since for all my trickery I have not but touched your precious hammer."

"Heimdall must know! YOU shall ask him!" (We're assuming Heimdall survives this long ;).)

latest

Thor forcibly carries Loki to all-seeing Heimdall's chamber.

"Indeed I see your hammer. It is here upon Midgard, in a strange realm known as...Disney California Adventure. It sits within a crater it itself has made in the asphalt before a hideously garish industrial oil refinery museum. In that museum, the Collector holds the Guardians of the Galaxy as trophies."

"I knew it! That mangy eyeball-craving raccoon you pal around with, I've seen him lift it. Somehow that little kleptomaniac is worthy."

"Obviously Mjolnir fell to earth from his greasy thieving paws after Taneleer seized the Milano."

39396959474_99b2db1a23_b_d.jpg

"There are tourists lined up and descending into the crater, each failing to lift Mjolnir from its earthen pillar. They're taking photos of themselves doing this. It is a big to-do."

"Then I must venture forth to this Dee-See-Ay and retrieve my rightful relic from their corndog-stained mitts!"

After failing to reach California via Bifrost magic, instead Thor travels there aboard a 747. After enjoying a long, restful Thorsleep in the Grand Californian Hotel, he barges instantly into DCA to find his hammer surrounded by gawking sightseers. Thor's arrival is heralded by a mighty thunderclap, emitting as though from the park's speakers.

"THINKEST THOU FIT TO LIFT MY HAMMER? COME, MIDGARDIANS, LET US SEE WHOSOEVER AMONGST YOUR THRONGS IS WORTHY!"

Thor-holding-Mjolnir.jpg

Thus Thor begins what has become known as the MJOLNIR LIFTING CEREMONY. With pomp and circumstance befitting Norse legend (or a similar Arthurian ceremony across the Esplanade in Fantasyland), Thor gathers the youngest tourists present to test their heroism and meddle. Thor shall successfully lift Mjolnir, though the rest cannot, as though it is held to its crater stone by some magnetic lock. At long last a chosen child shall too successfully possess Mjolnir, and even command lightning bolts which appear like high-tech projections against the nearby facades. (There are some who say that Thor's lightning is what destroyed the building which Mission: BREAKOUT replaced.) Then Thor shall reclaim his hammer, and bid the gathered Midgardians farewell.

40109122861_5539fa9781_o_d.jpg

And while Thor might gloat, believing he has again retrieved his prize, he remains stuck in Loki's latest trick. For you see, Loki now possesses shards of the destroyed Time Stone once called the Eye of Agamotto, and he has his adopted brother trapped in a never-ending time loop. Every two hours - at 10 AM, noon, 2, 4, 6 and 8 PM - Thor shall again arrive at the hammer crater and perform his lifting ceremony. Always Thor shall return Mjolnir to its crater pillar, where it shall forever remain as a challenge to DCA's out-of-towners and passholders.

(Loki's trickery grows more ambitious. Soon a second reforged Mjolnir shall crash-land in Hong Kong Disneyland's Tomorrowland, accompanying an Avengers E-ticket coming soon to that park.)

Project 6 - Innovators

The IP, Zootopia has been heavily linked and discussed to go into Animal Kingdom. Now, Zootopia will join, but differently than most expect. With that, I present to you…

Little Rodentia

I4wyBH-8VkCP94_-rtb8WUK_KoWXH-d0SKEfDOUCdbADT6PZnm_Q8AVLUOHMiUrvB6jYnSfEylSVUakylFnwNIIFUtnNmeubtTMfBGiwkAY4Cm7NHBt4Rzro8kAC4KEl5-u_HeJK

Being added as a branch of the Oasis, Little Rodentia will be a new experience to bring more augmented reality (AR) to the Disney parks.

1517960799522.png

A replica of the small area will be added. Live rodents will be seen throughout the town to match the movie. If guests look carefully, they’ll be able to see shops they may recognize from the movie including the Big Donut and Mousy’s.

The AR segment will have two parts to it. The first being a website that connects to the city. Much like the one created for the city in the movie ( http://visitzootopia.com/en_US/rodentia), this website will show the weather, points of interests, and much more. This will be used more by guests who are not in the park and just want to check out the town.

For guests in the area, opening the My Disney Experience app will bring up a new section showcasing Little Rodentia. From this area, guests can do many things to interact with the area. They can watch cameras located throughout the different buildings or located on the rodents for a POV to give new perspectives of the area.

Other things guests can do is take control of different motions through the town. Guests can take a chance to control the working tram that goes through the city for 45 seconds at a time. This short time is to allow other guests to also try out controlling the tram as well as allows the rodents to get off or on the tram to make it more believable.

There will also be a large pier area where the animals of the area can go on the roller coaster or a large yacht. Guests can decide when the roller coaster leaves the station (It goes every 90 seconds otherwise) and can control the yacht around the small water area.

Through Little Rodentia, Zootopia gets added to Animal Kingdom without the park losing its message of conservation or any attractions.
