When you were what, 1 year old?And next year will mark 20 years since the closing of the original attraction.

Gassy. Definitely a gassy feeling.
Not that it's going to do so much. But, I guess it's an improvement or something I guess.....Hate to bump an old thread but this was the most recent imagination thread I could find. I just wanted to point out the Figment footprints that were painted over last year are back. The footprints that lead into What-If? Labs I mean.
Some have stated that if they were to gut the interior of the ride the entire pavilion would have to be leveled to get a better layout of the ride but, wouldn't a trackless ride be a better way to go? The ideas of Mystic Manor would be amazing to have do a 360 rotation around the static Dreamship for the show to start as we "Float among the clouds" and land into the Dreamport where Figment would then release it ala same way as Albert.
I doubt that will happen anytime soon, Disney has been putting money into keeping 3.0 alive, or maybe it is to make sure everything is properly fixed for 4.0. Who knows?I'm still pretty saddened by the current state of Imagination and forever hopeful we'll get a 4.0.
As I am typing this, my mom and I are standing in line for journey and got into the discussion about the original. We're just stunned Disney would take a classic and turn it into something so crappy. I did a google search but couldn't find anything about why they changed it, just that they did change it. Has Disney ever said why?
Not really. Local crews with pride have been trying to make it look as good as possible given what they're working with.I doubt that will happen anytime soon, Disney has been putting money into keeping 3.0 alive, ?
I'm afraid the Pixar and Figment are all part of one big, happy family joined through marriage. The Disney Family. It's that in-law that you don't like, but, still have to tolerate. No 'Pixar' is needed or wanted in Figment's world of imaginative things.
The Dragon has spoken.

Original characters and franchises can never share an attraction all that well. See the post-Depp Pirates ride or Tiki Room Under New Management. No offense to Figment but this ride is screaming to be replaced by an Inside Out attraction. They can even include Figment as well. Guests can explore the mind, people's emotions, and the power of the imagination....
I will totally agree on the Tiki room fiasco because it essentially changed the entire atmosphere of the attraction from gentle and pleasant to a screaming mass of garbage. However, Pirates really didn't change all that much other then to be able to identify with a younger audience that perhaps were attracted to the show via the movie. The AA of Depp was absolutely amazing, and the basic story didn't change even a little, it just added to the interest and enabled many to identify that couldn't before. So some changes can be done quite fluidly and in my opinion, didn't hurt the ride at all. The pirates were still pirates, but, now there was one that we recognized.Original characters and franchises can never share an attraction all that well. Inside Out should be a Cranium Command reboot.
Pirates became way too focused on Jack to such a degree that it makes no sense. Like why is finding Jack a bigger priority then the treasure and why is the town's government apparently protecting him? And why must he always be addressed as Captain Jack Sparrow even though one of the series's running gags is that nobody outside his allies respects him enough to call him Captain? Not to mention having to be reminded every five seconds that Jack Sparrow is in the ride.I will totally agree on the Tiki room fiasco because it essentially changed the entire atmosphere of the attraction from gentle and pleasant to a screaming mass of garbage. I think he's gotten Bing Bong on the mind since he's an imaginary creatureEmotion is not imagination.
Not sure if it was posted earlier, but the creators of the movie talked to Imagineering when the film came out about their ideas for the ride.No offense to Figment but this ride is screaming to be replaced by an Inside Out attraction.
100% agreed on both points.I will totally agree on the Tiki room fiasco because it essentially changed the entire atmosphere of the attraction from gentle and pleasant to a screaming mass of garbage.
