Toad in the hole, roast potatoes and carrots - a billion calories in one shot!

Is this the "Toad in the hole" of which you are speaking? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toad_in_the_hole
I always thought that it was a piece of toast with a hole cut in the centre and then fried with an egg in the hole. What's that called?

We are having chicken (thighs) -not sure how we're prepairing, probably barbequed and tabbouleh.

Change of plans!

Parents are having Fish(ICK:dazzle:)

I shall be a food brat and make a pan Pizza.:D

:ROFLOL:

Food Brat, I love it. Now I have a name for what my children try to pull on me when I cook something they don't like. I have to say, I hate fish too so the pizza idea sounds pretty good.

We are grilling out chicken & pork chops, potatoes, salad and FRESH PINEAPPLE!!!!:slurp: Skip all of the other and give me the pineapple. :D

But sounds wonderful. :slurp:

It was! :slurp: Homemade fries are my weakness, the chicken was pretty good too.

I guess tonight will be pasta with a pesto sauce since I have basil coming out of my ears! I think I planted a little too much. Anyone tried canning pesto sauce? I hate to see it go to waste or I guess I could dry it.

We have the same problem here- too much basil growing.
I saw a recipe for a "fresh herb sauce" that was made with parsley, basil, a little mint and shallots and put in a food processor with a couple Ts of water and lemon juice and processed until herbs were finely minced then a coulpe Ts olive oil added slowly. Anyway, it said that the sauce could be frozen in ice cube trays then transferred to a zip-top bag. I might have to try it.

That's what I was thinking...I will look up the processing times and see what I can find.
Hope you get to feeling better btw.

Last year mine did not so good so I planted double this time.
That sounds very yummy, I may try that too. If you come up with any other ideas please let me know. :)

Yep - the freezing in ice cube trays works very well!

Tonight we're having a pork roast, broccoli and brown sugar glazed baby carrots and crescent rolls. MMMMMMM!

Love Love Love PF Changs. Have learned to make my own lettuce wraps which are better than Changs!

Oh my gosh, can you share that recipe? :ROFLOL:

I have searched, and after one MAJOR shopping trip to buy all those ingredients (stuff which I'll likely never use again  ) and a batch of chicken the kids wouldn't eat, it's just easier to go and get the stuff from Chang's. I can't put my finger on what was not to my liking for my at home version, but I was sorely disappointed :(

I'll try and work something up. I don't use recipes very often (if ever). I should be able to get something together. It took about 4 try before I got something I really liked.
