So we're exactly 3 years away from WDW's 40th. When do they start prepping?

I wish that kind of effort and time table could be applied to construction projects & infrastructure alterations in the real world. These days it takes 3 years to do something relatively mundane such as expanding a few miles of interstate from 2 lanes to 4, each way.
(Interstate 66 in VA between Manassas and Gainsville, as an example)

It is always easier to start from scratch than add on later. Things are always done more quickly that way.

Bah, we've lived with miles of stalled parking lot on that stretch for several years - what's a couple more?

I would actually like to see how the productivity level compares now to then. Now... we have a lot more specialized construction equipment to do the jobs better.... yet it seems like this really goes on for an eternity.

Is it just because these are government projects assigned to the lowest bidder?? Why did I continually see groups of workers doing absolutely nothing... watching one guy in one machine pushing dirt around?

Yea, you can hear it from almost all of Adventureland. What you are hearing are the speakers located on the second floor of the queue, which hadn't been working in about...oh 9 years.

Hah, when I first heard the music, I thought, "Wow, the system is pushing too much volume to those speakers." Then I realized that the audio wasn't distorting. I couldn't believe my ears. ;)

I have little faith we'll see much in the next year to be completed by 2011-2012. With the crashing economy I just don't see Disney making huge investments (they certainly didn't while the economy was good in Magic Kingdom).

I hope I'm wrong.

The new DCA Preview Center "Blue Sky Cellar" has just opened this week in California Adventure. The few pictures from the pre-grand opening today are making people drool already.

What WDW needs is a really swanky and posh preview center like DCA just got. WDW executives need to get off their behind, greenlight some stuff, and then show it off with models and sketches and interactive displays like they are doing with the things coming to Anaheim in 2009-2012. http://micechat.com/disneyland-news/california-adventure-fix/

In the Internet Age a really nice preview center will have the models and sketches on display broadcast around the world within hours of its opening. I think John Lasseter was brilliant in demanding that a preview center open for DCA's makeover, and now it's time to do the same thing for WDW!

I'm sure there is other stuff nearing a greenlight that we haven't heard about. There just has to be.

Prepping?

For what exactly?

A LE pin set?

TWDC ignored WDW's 30th and 35th anniversaries. Why would anyone expect differently for the 40th, especially with the economy collapsing?

I wish things were different. But I'd expect cutbacks galore over the next year or two and very little in the freshness department.

Go to DL ... or DLP ... or TDL ... or even HKDL ... if you want to see something new and exciting.

This is what my inside sources have told me as well. Save your money folks nothing to see here. :hurl:

Oh and don't expect anything to change to the descent of SSE for a VERY LONG TIME (i.e. until the next major overhaul of the attraction)
