I see. and what is your paper about again?

Also: YOU DON"T EAT STEAK??????

And what exactly is the difference between venomous and poisonous?

(yes, I am stalking you on Facebook)

It's about whatever I want it to be about. I'm writing about my friendships in Ohio. It's complicated, which is why I can't actually get anything written

No, I stopped eating beef about a year ago.

Venomous = has to bite you. Poisonous = you eat it.

Well, duh. I thought there was something more to it than that.

Hey, can I read it when you're done?

Do you still eat other dead animals?

Uhm, I'm not sure. Probably not, just because I'm really sketchy with my writing.

I still eat chicken and sausage. Tasty tasty.

EDIT: That's kind of a lie. I'll eat beef/lamb/pork if I know where it came from. Meaning I won't eat it from the store, but I'll eat something that came off of our farm or the farm of someone that we know.

I must confess I'm a little hurt. I know I bust on you from time to time but I would never mock your writing. But on the other hand, I know how it feels to be shy about something you've created.

So the meat thing is not a meat thing it's a germ/disease thing?

Oh, I know you wouldn't mock me. Shyness is the perfect way of saying it. I'm very selective about who gets to read my final products, and this one will probably be an especially selective case, because I think it's going to absolutely suck

Not germs or disease. I just like to know how the animal is raised/what it was fed. It really affects the quality of the meat. Chickens don't take up much room, which is why I have no qualms eating them. But cows and other animals require a lot of space, and when they're not given that space the quality of the meat is bad -- a lose-lose situation in my eyes.

You know what's weird? I always picture you as being so self-confident. So out there ( I mean for pete's sake, you talk about musicals and Disney often and lovingly, which most kids your age would totally hide that love). My point being, I totally understand. But, for the record, it's not going to suck. Dumb ______. (please read that last sentence as: I have faith in your abilities).

You raise an interesting point about space. Not sure how it affects the quality, since I only have ever eaten store meat, which I can pretty much (now that you've made me actually think about it) guarantee is from animals without enough space. While I've known for a long time about how meat animals are raised, it never occurred to me that there is a connection between the raising and the taste.

It's not even the taste, really. Like... most of the beef today is raised on a mostly-corn diet which basically just fattens animals up and makes them big in a short amount of time so that they can get slaughtered ASAP. Because they're raised on corn, most of the beef in stores is something like 65% fat... not something I want to eat

Which is why I'll only eat beef if I know that it came from a farm where it was allowed to graze and actually reach an adequate state of maturity.

As for space... There are just a lot of better ways all of the farmland used for raising big animals like cows can be utilized. Such as places for the poor to live or more farmland since we don't really grow enough crops to sustain the planet, along with other options.

Bah. I didn't mean to go all environmentalist tonight. Forgive me.

I'm gonna have to...otherwise we would be throwing down about your hippie tree hugging ideals and then we would both get reprimanded by Steve the Almighty for getting "political" on the forums.

And I agree, 65% fat is waaaay too low.

Good morning

Today is Christina's 15th BD.

For those that do not know Christina is my oldest DD.

Happy birthday to Christina! It's also my dad's birthday today. He's much older than 15, though

Memorial Day is screwing with my sense of time. I keep thinking it's Saturday.

There has been NO ONE here today.

I just found out that next year OTL is putting on The Wedding Singer. I'm so bummed that I'm missing out :(
