its an animated Gif..so i just made the background transparent..flash has that option when you export as a movie..

First off...Flash is EVIL..its my least favorite program ever..i only used it because i had it installed...normally id prefer Soft Toonz..but i cant afford that right now ;)

http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/ here...there is a trial you can use to see if you like it..there is actually a really nifty book out about animating cartoons using flash..

Flash however REALLY isnt for cartoons....its pretty limited...which is why if i were doing a REAL 2d animation..id use Toonz...

Flash costs about 500 bucks..so its the "cheapest" of all the options..but since its mainly for web based animation and stuff..id say look into other options ;)

What other options would you suggest?

See...thats the problem...since most 2d animation programs are quite pricey (rightfully so if you saw half the stuff they can do)

Flash is a good place to start..but dont expect to make anything complex with it..as im sure you noticed..my animation lacks depth..shadows..blur..etc....things that are essential for good 2d animations...

When i was in college I used Soft Toonz for all my 2d stuff...it was noticibly better...and the program they use over at Disney is quite similar to it....so it was cool ;) ....there is another new 2d program out and i cant remember the name..its something like "Digital animation program" (DAP)...its also damn good..made by a company called "Crater"...its used in 90% of the "TV animation" shows

Imageready is good for making animated gifs..yes..but not recommended for doing anything else..lol

also..a good investment which saved me a LOT of time in college...is getting a scanner that has an "automatic feeder" on it..so you can just load up a stack of paper (such as animation frames) and just set it to scan em all for you...those run about 200 bucks depending on where you look ;)

I will have to start looking into some of these things. Especially that automatic feeder. You'd think I'm nuts if I told you some of the ways I've tried to make my drawings come to life. First, there was using my video camera to film each frame, one at a time. Since I couldn't get the camera to record each frame any slower than about one frame per second, they were all extremly slow, but fine for starters (It took me a heck of a long time do try to do this right). I need to get a scanner, though. I had one, but it was junk and it broke within a year of when we got it.

I started downloading one of the flash trial versions, but since it takes so long to download on my computer, and since my computer doesn't think it is necessary to stay online for over 10 min of inactivity, even though I'm downloading something, I never got it downloaded. Mabey I'll try again...

Without that one blue leg, the animation could begin to look confusing as well. In a simple 2-d, side view walk cycle, the legs tend to be hard to tell apart. Especially with only 9 frames.

Yeah, um, if you don't mind living in India and working for 2 grains of rice per hour, there are like oh, I'd say, 1000 jobs there.;)

I think its cool that people still show intrest in this!

Actually..some (not alot ) progress was made. Im still convering everything over to the new software..which is a time consuming process..and my "rea life" dedications seem to be getting in the way...grrr...

I actually am finishing up 3 different projects this week (one of which has been taking up 95% of my "artistic" schedual)..so who knows..we all may get lucky!! (wow ..that sounded bad)

I hate to be the first to say this, because I haven't seen one negative post..

But what is an elements pavillion doing in EPCOT? It's about the future, and speaking of Elements is about as archaic as you can get, ecspecially when chemistry has evolved to include much more complex and numerous elements. Plus...Earth and Water are already talked about in 'The Living Seas' and in 'The Land', both with respective, educational, and -ACCURATE- attractions...

Now I'll be the first to say that I'm jumping the gun a bit, cause all we've seen is a hallway and heard some music, and maybe your main attraction really is EPCOT worthy, but--that's just somehthing to think about while you design this, The Elements are much more of a romantic concept now-a-days..

Of course, By God, you are an extremely talented artist, and I'd kill (or atleast severely wound) someone to get you onto the SOJI team, But it's probably not a good idea to attach this onto a bad critque of you idea..Oh well...
