Read into it as you wish, but I just randomly checked Don Dorsey's website, and the long-present "SkyDance" project is no longer listed. In its place is something called "National Harbor."

Edit: for those who don't know, Don Dorsey was one of the main creative forces behind the Main Street Electrical Parade, Illuminations 2000: Reflections of Earth, Fantasmic and many other Disney and non-Disney nighttime shows.

Interesting.
  • Could it mean that he has completely turned it over to WDI?
  • Could it mean that it was a failure?
  • Could it mean that he needed more more on his website?

It could mean that the project is completed and ready to install...:lookaroun

Why would WDI be in control. Wouldn't this be handled by WDE? WDI can get involved to build/modify hardware and such but I doubt that it will be operating the show.

My guess (for what it is worth) is that they changed the working title to throw off the WDWMagic sleuths. :lookaroun

Disney could have very easily asked him to remove it from the website...

Similar to how they asked the company designing the new "we swear this isn't a DVC building at the Contemporary" to remove that. :lookaroun

Perhaps SkyDance was the show 'created' to deal with lack the Earth Globe barge on occasion.

That seems pretty logical. Could have also been the upgrades to the globe we've all been waiting for.

I don't think ROE is going anywhere for a long time. At least I hope it doesn't!

.....with still no firm dates of the earth barge rehab.

I wonder what they will add to the no-globe version of the show we saw in Feb...

Certain parts were expected to arrive this month for a June refurb. If they can't get started by mid May, the refurb will be delayed once again until after 4th of July.
I don't see why the 4th show can't be run without the earth barge except for capacity limitations on the other barges.

They could start as soon as the new pixels arrive, but they don't want to mess with the July 4th show. Because it would mean extra programming, extra testing, and extra product. And the Earth Globe is the centerpiece of the show.
