Since Disney is so open to sponsorship I don't believe for a minute that they would refuse that deal if the only condition was Siemens name on it and if Siemens is truly ending sponsorship, I highly doubt they would have made that offer.
What does this mean in the short-term? In other words, if the sponsorship were to end in November, would the attraction still remain open for the foreseeable future (within reason) ? I would assume they wouldn't want to have this ride down for the Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Years crowds at the very least.
Not exactly.
Just trying to find a potential silver lining. I wonder if Disney knew enough ahead of time to factor this into their upcoming FW plans.
Wonder if they will have to close it down to update the audio and visuals for the screens on the ride itself...Since Seimens is mentioned at the beginning and Ending....
Im guessing this is from another site? Probably incorrect. I'm hearing a bit more about what happened now. It seems it was last minute decision with reasons that will possibly become apparent.
I imagine it could be done third shift.Wonder if they will have to close it down to update the audio and visuals for the screens on the ride itself...Since Seimens is mentioned at the beginning and Ending....
The ride won't just 'close' because it has no sponsor. It will be open - it just means changes are very unlikely.
Didn't they just have a black scrim over an AT&T sign for years after they left? Cutting out a line of audio and scene of video wouldn't be a big deal.
Go back to page 3 as I found a photo that shows Post AT&T from 2004....
Thats the external signage. There was a sign I believe near the end of the attraction that was simply covered over.
Could it have been this one??
Possibly. I'm picturing something that was just the AT&T logo, but heck that was 13+ years ago so who knows.
