Should we still come?

I have to say that if anyone is able to travel to wdw from inside America - DO IT! carry on with your lives, these idiots who carried out this act want your country to stop.

I am due to come over to wdw on 28th September. I really don't know if I will be able to get there or not at this point, all I can do is hope!

That wouldn't bother me, as long as if he sat next to me he didn't hog the armrest... ;)

LOL

You'll probably get stuck infront of the kid from hell as well and he/she'll be constantly kicking the chair and knocking his tray - deep joy

We're talking that we might drive instead of fly. My fiancee is very nervous about all of this. I like roadtripping so it's not a huge loss to me. I'm just not sure what to do at this point.

My parents just returned from Orlando to New Jersey last night, flying home in a tropical storm (thanks for the updates, Marcia!). They said they did not feel any less safe than before.

And I will be flying from Newark to Minnesota in a couple weeks. This tragedy won't stop me from doing what I want to do. I have always told my parents if I die in an airplane, take comfort in knowing I was doing what I wanted to do.

Just my opinion. :)

Alot of people in the UK are cancelling their Holidays not just Disney but any International Holiday. Most are looking at Europe as an alternative but given time will come back.

I think with the possibility of war breaking out most people are staying at home for fear of getting stranded.

Saying that we are planning to come over to Disney World in Jan 2002. Terrorists will not dictacte my life !!

I say go. If its a dream vacation do you want to give up a dream. I am flying to Nashville on Thursdayand my only concern is with all of the security and delays would it be quicker to drive. By 10/1 everything should be pretty much back on track I would think. I'll give you an update on what the airports are like when I get back Monday.

My brother & his wife just flew from RI to FL today. Their flight was on time, and they had no delays getting on the plane; 2 hours gave them more than enough time to check in. They were understandably nervous, but other than that it was an uneventful flight!

Just had confirmation from my airline that my flight is definately going ahead! I have been told we can't take any hand luggage on board, it will have to be checked into the hold. But at least I am still able to go! :)

The guy I spoke to me seemed a bit surpeised I was still going! He said lots of people had cancelled.

The good news is 90% of flights took off yesterday. The bad news is they were only at 40% capacity. The only incident I heard of yesterday was two men were taken off a Dallas to Chicago flight because of unusual behavior.

I read here
http://www.sky.com/skynews/storytemplate/storytoppic/0,,30000-1029699,00.html

A bomb threat has forced a Virgin Airlines jumbo jet flying from Heathrow to New York to divert to Canada.

Four Canadian jet fighters escorted the aircraft - carrying 314 people - to an unscheduled landing in Newfoundland on Monday night, it has been revealed.

The four F-18s were sent up by the North American Aerospace Defence Command in the United States in the wake of last week's terrorist attacks, a spokesman for Virgin Atlantic said.

Update:

Well, as of today our trip is still on. It's just going to be me, my husband and my son. My sister-in-law and her family (who were coming with us) have said 100 % that there is "no way in hell " that they were going and the rest of our family has expressed concern about our decision to still go. I think they are making me more nervous than the media. It's definately changed our vacation - it's going to be weird the 3 of us staying in a 2 bedroom condo that sleeps 8!!

I just wonder what the attendance will be like when we visit. I know of 2 or 3 couples who have cancelled their trips fron this country, and if the feeling is similar in the USA, attendance could really suffer.

I would imagine that attendence will be low for awhile. It's kind of a bittersweet feeling. It's nice to have small lines and less crowds but not for the reasons why it is going to be like that. :(

Gee, Freak, then it could almost be our patriotic duty to go and bolster tourism and the economy.... :)

If I could Duckie, I would be on a flight this afternoon, no question. :)
