Should we expect any major announcements regarding WDW at D23 expo next month?

I actually liked him. Yeah, it was bumpy at the end...but look where we are now.

I know it's off topic, but I love your avatar. Lady Gaga=Queen.

Anyway, I haven't been on here in a LONG time. I can't wait for the D23 Expo. Seems like yesterday we just got the FLE announcement.

Sorry, but I only detect more joking and sarcasm.

Why isn't Steve here to bring some much-needed reason into these conversations?

P.S.: To all the Eisner-apologists, please don't even go there.

It's all sarcasm, so hopefully it's all coming out that way and there are no hard feelings. It's 2:30 in the morning where Steve lives, so my guess is that he is in dreamland and that we might hear from him tomorrow. He also has a real job and other responsibilities so he doesn't always have time to join the conversation or watch over the board which is why he recruits some of us to take care of it as well.

Yes.
There will be announcements aplenty.

That's not to say that all of that which is announced will ever be built....

Excitement tempered with skepticism would be the way to go.

Are you expecting things announced in the What's New/What's Next presentation to be announced as a test of sorts to see what fans get excited about? What seems to make more sense is for them to use the Imagineering/Parks and Resorts display area to showcase models of attractions that are "in the works" but not necessarily announce them.

Do you have any insight as to how these "supposed attractions" are going to be presented?

And I hope they are booed off the stage if any of those announcements are made.
That's what gets me. If you watch the YouTube video of the FLE announcement at the last D23 expo, you would have thought a brand new 5th park with 20+ E-tickets had just been revealed, by the sound of the crowd in the auditorium. One woman even sounded like she was passing out at one point. But then you stop & think: These are mostly meet & greets!? This was way before the seven dwarf mine coaster, when it was all mostly princess meet & greets. Yet not one of those people in that auditorium stood up and said, "This? THIS is what all the hype was about? This is why ticket prices are topping $80 a head?" No, they cheered & applauded in an orgasmic fashion, and wagged their little tails with excitement, like sheep eating corn out of it's master's hand.

So really, we only have us, the fans, to blame. We get what we tolerate. And by the sounds of the crowds at last D23's announcement, we screamed to the execs that multiple meet & greet's are good enough for us to come running back for more.

It took a wizard named Harry down the street, and his success, to convince Disney to add the mine coaster, and shake up FLE a little bit outta the mediocre form it was first announced as.

Thats how Disney rolls now I think. If you think back, Disney did not green light Tron Legacy until after they showed the test footage at Comic Con. Just to see how the audience reacted.

I'd be really happy if we get news of a new ride at HS and Epcot.

Magic kingdom has FLE which will be good for a quite a few years (esp with my 7 month old niece hitting the proper age for it as it opens) and we went to animal kingdom twice and will never go back unless it gets a huge FLE type update.

Epcot really needs a few more rides and the same with HS , if we can get another new ride in each of them every other year most likely by the end of the decade I would consider them full day parks again. In october when we usually come down both HS ad Epcot can be done in day. We normaly do HS till 3 and then head to Epcot for the rest of the day , we get done with the rides by 6ish (sometimes longer due to soaring being such a long line all the time) and then chill in the world showcase.

So i relal feel both these parks need more. i'd love for a monsters inc type ride like spider man at universal. My nephew would love it .

I think the plans for the FLE were leaked last time for one reason; to generate buzz and make people want to buy tickets to the D23 Expo. This time around, they can afford to be more subtle. I think the Dreamfinder at Destination D may be a hint as well as "outside insiders" like Lou Mongelo talking about the Wonders of Life pavilion; those may be fairly good hints. Bob Iger being publicly spotted at AK is another. I sure hope we get something added to HS as well; either a Pixar Place expansion or more over in Lucas Land.

Not too surprising, considering the audience. They are not representative of Disney fans as a whole. I mean, if you're in D23, you're going to have a super-positive outlook; someone like me, who tempers enthusiasm with a smidgen of cynicism, isn't going to join. Which is probably why Disney chooses D23 for these kinds of announcements now.

I am 100% convinced that this is finally the Imagination announcement.... but it is a feeler announcement that will not be followed up on.

I still don't get this logic if this is Disney's plan. Unless they're talking about things that can fall through (like WS pavilions, etc) then what's the point of announcing anything?

My hunch is that the Test Track enhancement will be mentioned. Soarin' Around the World would be another big announcement I can see happening. The M.I. Coaster and AK Expansion I would love to see, but I doubt they'll be happening anytime soon.

I'm sure we'll hear more about Hyperion Warf, Art of Animation, FLE and other expansion projects.

Come on , FLE is one of the biggest upgrades to any of the parks that i can remember since animal kingdom and thats 1998. If we got a FLE sized expansion to DHS or AK i think the crowd would be crazy not to go nuts at the annoucnement

One D-ticket ride at best (Mermaid), a clone of a spinny ride (Dumbo), and all the rest were either restaurants, or meet & greet's. That was the original FLE announcement that the crowd went bonkers over. It wasn't until after WWHP's successful opening that Disney decided to re-kindle the expansion & add the Seven Dwarfs Mine Coaster, and tone down the meet & greet factor a bit.

Yet that crowd acted as if a 5th gate had been announced, with a magnitude of E-ticket state-of-the-art attractions. It was like they were captivated by the pretty concept artwork appearing on screen, but not really paying attention to what the announcer was actually saying (or not saying).

That sends a message to the Disney higher-up's that we don't need new E-tickets or new parks to keep our wallets from closing or excitement from fading...but rather dining & meet & greets. So when the future of the parks looks mediocre...don't blame mgmt. Blame the fans for tolerating / welcoming laziness.

sorry but

THE BIG ANOUNCEMENT:

yeti fixed this year

:brick::brick::brick::ROFLOL::ROFLOL::hammer:

......fixed as in they give it an afro wig and play night fever by the beegees as you enter the yeti cave...maybe they can program him to do the hustle

but for real.....my predicitons:

1)anounce some gimick title for the next year
2)I honestly feel some sort of Cars anouncement will happen for DHS
3)Animal Kingdom won't get a major attraction anouncement, but a teaser of something to spark interest/ get crowd reaction
4)something will be anounced that will not be a transport from another park
5) more details on HKD

1) Agree. They will probably announce some kind of 40th anti climatic MK gimick
2)Not sure. Announce the Cars addition to LMA. But not likely any more than this.
3) Maybe an announcement of new show to go into former Pocahontas spot. But likely to never to become reality.
4) Could announce MI coaster. But not likely to be done any time soon.
5)Agree. There will be plenty of info for HKDL and Shanghi

Also more details on FLE And progress in DCA. Parade movements if any and that is mostly it.
