Should we expect any major announcements regarding WDW at D23 expo next month?

i know everyone will be mad at this who wants the 5th gate but what are they gunna make it if it isnt night kingdom. they already have the land of fantasy in magic kingdom, the world and future concept in epcot and in mk's tomorrowland, they have represented life in hollywood movies or whatever u wana make DHS out to be and the wide world of animals is represented in Ak. think of the ammount of attractions, resturants, chataters and bathrooms(this is suppost to be some kinda skyway bathroom joke) they would have to make fit into a new park. if night kingdom doesnt happen then what else is there?

Ive often thought about that too, what could they theme a 5th gate around.
They could do an aquatic park but i couldnt see it being any good compared to Seaworld. The only other thing i think they could of done (if they kept rights to) would be a whole fledge themepark for Harry Potter. They could try and pull off an Adventure Park (DCA) In Florida and have it florida themed but how popular/successful would it be ??
4theme parks in 1resort is pretty good

Can someone give me a couple sentences on what the Jungle Trek idea was? I've tried searching, and all I come up with is "Maharajah Jungle Trek." Thx! :)

Isn't that the tour they have on the Safari at DAK?

And if I had to speculate, I think MI roller coaster will be announced along with MAYBE an update to our F!/change to WoC. I doubt they'll announce much for WDW though... will have my fingers crossed though!

Jungle Trek was a high priced - $300 or so a day - "park" where guests could get closer to the animals. It was also to include rock climbing and zip lining, etc. Basically, Animal Kingdom has taken the ideas for their new separately ticketed tour.:)

4 parks is plenty. All still need more attractions. When all four parks have as much to do as Disneyland, with 10 million+ in attendance each... THEN WDW will need a fifth gate.

As of this moment the only park concept I am interested in them bringing to Florida is a version of Tokyo Disney Sea.

To quote this website....

Walt DisneyParks and Resorts(3:30 pm – 5:00 pm) – Join Tom Staggs, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, as he gives D23 guests a special behind-the-scenes glimpse into some of the exciting projects currently underway at Disney’s parks and resorts around the world.

It seems to be that they are only going to talk more about projects we already know about. This doesn't bode well for getting any new announcements. :brick:

Well Iger has said that people should lower their expectations as he planned to slow down the capital spending from current levels and WDI has a very full plate with projects in Asia. But I have to believe that something will be announced for WDW to respond to TWWOHP and also Legoland which I think people continue to underestimate.

It is possible they have not even made final decisions yet.

Yet that crowd acted as if a 5th gate had been announced, with a magnitude of E-ticket state-of-the-art attractions. It was like they were captivated by the pretty concept artwork appearing on screen, but not really paying attention to what the announcer was actually saying (or not saying).

I believe they were high on pixie dust at the time.

Maharajah "Jungle Trek" is the walk-through animal exhibit in Asia at AK.

"Wild Africa Trek" is the tour at AK, currently available to all guests at the low, low price of $189 each.

"Shangri La" aka "Night Kingdom" was the little boutique park concept that never made it off the drawing boards. (Think of it as a variation on Sea World's Discovery Cove.)

I think a big expansion to Animal Kingdom wouldn't come directly after FLE, but I would certainly love and welcome it. Haven't some inside sources mentioned the possibility of Adventureland or Tomorrowland being next?
